Dogs’ Assistance With Self-Care?

Dogs provide numerous self-care benefits, including boosting mood and self-esteem, reducing stress, encouraging physical activity, improving sleep, encouraging healthier choices, providing companionship and emotional support, making us more social, and making work more enjoyable. Studies have shown that owning a dog provides physical and mental health benefits, from lifting our moods to making us move, and reducing stress.

Emotional support animals have been shown to help people manage their mental health issues, with individuals citing the benefits that their dogs, cats, and even ferrets have in managing panic attacks. Having a lovable pet can be a source of joy and stress relief, as well as helping humans cope better in challenging situations and reduce stress levels.

Pets, especially dogs and cats, can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, ease loneliness, encourage exercise and playfulness, and even improve heart health. Research shows that just patting a pet can help reduce stress and blood pressure. Pets may also decrease stress, improve heart health, and even help children with their emotional and social skills.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, petting an animal can help lower the stress hormone cortisol and increase the release of the feel-good neurotransmitter. Daily walks, feeding, and grooming your dog are all huge responsibilities that structure your life and work to build upon it. Starting off your self-care Sunday with a doggy massage can help relax muscles and joints while providing them with much-needed comfort.

Pets can give you a sense of security and someone to share the day with. Caring for them can help you feel wanted and needed, and new pet therapy trials are reporting promising results in reducing loneliness and depression.

  • Courtney, you really take care of your dogs very well. You don’t just buy dry food which includes so called vitamins and think it’s fine. You do the right thing. Give them meat (which they love) and vitamins with fruits (what they need). Remember: a hunting animal eats everything of their prey including the stomach including the vitamins the hunted animal got in. Best way to food your dog. Congratulations, they are healthy and fit. 👍👏 I love both, Tucker and Todd ❤️😉😘🥰

  • Thanks for sharing what you use for toothpaste. I’m getting a dog this year, a golden, and I’ve been trying to figure out what kind of toothpaste to use for her. I was looking on Amazon and was seeing nothing but bad reviews on all the toothpaste listed. I was a bit discouraged and confused about what brand I should get when literally as I finished looking on Amazon, this article popped up in my feed and you answered my question! Thanks! P.S. Any tips on how to get your dog used to having his teeth brushed?

  • At feeding times our 5 year old pitbull/lab mix and 1 year old pitbull/dachsund mix eat together but ever since we got the pitbull/dachsund mix we cant give the bullysticks or any kind of denastix unless its a small crunchy treat that they can eat fast. Does anyones older dog get fiesty if you give them treats. We dontdo kongs anymore either bc if meadow, the pitbull/lab mix finishes hers first then she takes her brothers kong from him and growls.

  • I just love Courtney’s articles. I live in Michigan and have a 10 year old Golden Retriever “Wrigley”. I wish I would have started him on a raw diet from the day we brought him home a puppy. Tucker and Todd are just about the cutest and well loved puppers. Where do you order their raw meat from and is it expensive? It would be awesome if when the weather warms up those of us with Goldens in Michigan could organize a meet and great with Tucker & Todd and our own special pooches.

  • Oh Tucker, you may not like having your ears cleaned but it’s great to see Linda do them. Otherwise you could get infections in them. I used to have a cocker spaniel and he didn’t like having his ears cleaned but he tolerated it. He got some good treats after for being a good boy! Love you Tucker, and Tod too!💖🐕💖🐶💖🐾

  • well when Monetized YouTube websites may earn $3 to $7 per every one thousand article views. If Tucker Budzyn is within this range, Net is estimates that Tucker Budzyn earns $83.43 thousand a month, totaling $1.25 million a year. so yea one can afford to spend up in the range of 50 -60 dollars for 5lbs of food …

  • That was Pawfect Also Please Make a Todd Budzyn Pleaseeee I love you guys so much I have been perusal ever since you got Tucker!!! And I really appreciate you and how you have helped me when I was bored and know you just make me smile brighter every day and to know you will always be amazing and Todd And Tucker And You Linda You Make me shine bright and make me brave because of Linda Todd Tucker!!!!!!

  • If anyone ever doubts how much Tucker adores his mama just watch the articles where he has to do things he doesn’t particularly enjoy such as ear cleaning. He doesn’t run or need to be restrained or forced in any way. That’s how you know he has absolute trust and love for his hoomans. And there’s no better dog mom than Linda 💜💜💜

  • I really wish I could afford to feed raw food to my golden, but it’s cost-prohibitive. However, I supplement his dry food with vegetables, fruit, cooked chicken, tuna, sardines, and yogurt. I do a 25-75 or 50-50 split as often as I can so that he gets some fresh food every day. But raw food is insanely expensive where I live and just isn’t doable to the extent done for Tucker and Todd. They’re lucky doggos!
