Meth sores are open wounds that develop on the arms, face, and throat due to the abuse of methamphetamine or crystal meth. These sores can appear as rashes, cuts, scratches, or scabs, but as the skin is repeatedly broken and fails to heal, they become infected and take on the appearance of open wounds, blisters, or acne-like pustules. Meth sores are a secondary result of protracted meth use, and their chemical properties do not directly cause skin sores.
Meth sores are primarily caused by the common symptom of feeling like insects crawling under one’s skin, which can lead to meth hallucinations. The drug’s intense stimulant effects can lead users to go days, and skin sores are just one overt sign of how toxic the substance meth is. It can have a devastating affect on a person’s life.
Poor hygiene is a significant factor in the development of meth sores, as users typically neglect personal hygiene, increasing the risk of infections and sores. The drug’s intense stimulant effects can lead users to go days. Meth sores are just one overt sign of how toxic the substance meth is, and it can have a devastating effect on a person’s life.
Physical signs such as meth sores, meth mouth, and extreme weight loss signal meth addiction and long-term use. Mouth sores are also common among crystal meth users who smoke the drug through a pipe, which can burn the lips and the skin. One of the most visible side effects of meth addiction appears on a person’s skin in the form of wounds called meth sores.
In conclusion, meth sores are a common skin condition caused by the compulsion to pick at the skin induced by meth use. Treatment options often involve criticizing drug use and addiction, but also discussing the complex factors that often contribute to these sores.

📹 The Devastating Reality of Methamphetamine Psychosis: A Warning
In this video, we explore the serious mental health consequences of methamphetamine use, specifically Methamphetamine …
For those of you that are doubters about the meth on the streets now…it is different. My son has been an addict since about 2012. He was using heroin, coke, and we didn’t know it at the time but meth as well. He got an infection in his heart from iv drug use that ate away his mitral valve. He had to have a mechanical valve placed in his heart at 26 years old. We thought he was basically clean since then but we found out recently he has not been. A couple of years ago, he started hallucinating. Both auditory and visual. We begged and pleaded with him to get help. He went to rehab for a month and a half self admit. He lied and said he no longer heard the voices and left. The threw away the meds that were given to him to quiet the voices and was in a cycle of using and drinking to quiet the voices. He alienated everyone with his delusions and the threats to them. He came to believe experiments were done on him. That he was pizzagated as a child (and no he was not). He believed that we were all psychic and that we were projecting things into his mind and reading his thoughts. He lost a really good job of 6 years and things got worse. He isolated himself about 4 months ago. He would only “talk” to me through texts. I couldn’t convince him that his reality wasn’t true reality. Couldn’t get him to get help. He was worse than we knew in his psychosis. He hid things very well if you saw him in person. Locked away in an apartment he became very spiritually active convinced he was going on a spiritual journey.
My ex spouse died of a meth induced heart attack because of the increased strength of meth over the years. Then I got into another relationship with a heavy meth user who went into meth phchois I tried for several years to get him the help he needed but was unsuccessful as I myself was in early recovery. To this day he still hasn’t returned to his normal self. I though myself am happy to report I am in my second year of recovery and am no longer in any unhealthy relationships
In my eyes the current drug addiction and mental health crisis it’s just the symptoms of a much bigger problem. There is a pandemic of ignorance and narcissism in which each of us are worried just for ourselves which ends up in the long term to harm us and everyone else around us. We can invent as many medicines as we wish, until we won’t start carrying for each other nothing will improve.
In the mid-90s, I was offered Ice and became instantly addicted. I was a 19 year old college student (honors). I suffered in psychosis along with my (thankfully) short addiction, often. Would have auditory & visual hallucinations daily. A combo of the ice, no food and no sleep would propel myself into major psychosis about every week or so. Thank God I went to prison for 6 years.
Good to see someone talking about Methamphetamine addiction. I know a couple people who are addicted. The symptoms you describe fit very well. Young people need to know this before trying the drug. That won’t work for all of course, but if it could prevent even a few from trying it the first time, it would be worth it. Thanks very much for this article.
Wanted to learn more about this because raving Meth Heads are everywhere in Honolulu. It’s really scary. You never know what you are going to face when you go outside. The Condos in this neighborhood are over a million dollars, and people freaking out around you daily. Not a day goes by where you won’t witness this. While I know it’s an addiction, it always starts off as a choice. A bad choice, but a choice the first time you decide to do it.
My daughter put herself through college and had a great life. No one plans to become an addict. She had just given birth and was depressed when offered crack and ice. She made $35+ an hr so she spent it all and went downhill fast. Her psychoses were terrifying. She was planning to murder her 6 yr old daughter because a “dark spirit is inside her” She committed the act of unaliving oneself after being on ice for the last 3 yrs of her life. It was very tragic, we didnt know she was schizophrenic until she hit on hard drugs at 29. Crazy train wreck every day, for six years. God bless the ones strugging with psychosis 😢😢😢
I live in Regional Australia, my friend (mid 50’s) hung herself on Meth, a young man I met in rehab overdosed/dead on fentanyl, my daughter (Meth+ Heroin overdosed and died in her early 30’s, her boyfriend (high on Meth) hung himself shortly after,. My son is in Meth Psychosis, his son battled for a year on meth but is finally free, his best mate still uses and died but was resuscitated later, my best mate has 4 kids on/off meth. 2 of my 12 grandkids died at 2/3 weeks old due to mothers meth/H use. 7 surviving grandkids were born addicted. 2 son in laws have gone through re-hab (early 30’s) and both doing well and working now. Daughter in law is still using pills/??, She can honestly be a nightmare and has been diagnosed with multiple mental health issues. We have raised/had custody of 7 different grandkids at times, still have one living with us (6 years old). Drugs don’t only affect the users….
There’s totally something to the new meth. Now…I haven’t touched this stuff since about 2001. But I can tell you I’m one of the most paranoid people naturally and it never hit me the way it’s hitting some of my husbands family. The ones still doing it are starting to lose their mind…even when sober for real. Now…I didn’t do it like they do…I’ve done it like 6 times…so I get that I don’t really know. But the thing is …they are all so much tougher than me and seeing them go crazy from it….cause I know it’s meth….meth induced schizophrenia…even though none of them want to face that it’s meth…kinda blows my mind and I just have this feeling the chemical makeup is by far worse than when I had it. I just know that they are not all schizophrenic..I just know it. Not that they are stable…but…well who gets schizophrenia in their 60s anyway? People love to call crazy people crackheads. But I have never seen crack do what meth does. Stay far away from this stuff everyone.
My ex-gf, whom I care deeply for, has these issues. It’s a severe downhill spiral. She believes that I was sex-trafficking her, secretly married to someone else, and that someone was breaking into her apartment every night–and on, and on! It breaks my heart! These delusions of hers destroyed our relationship. It caused me legal issues( which won’t go into). It sucks you in! Nothing good comes from this drug. I pray that someday she gets help.
This makes sense. I’ve had someone get extremely physically violent and aggressive with me, and claim to have schizophrenia, and then later complEtely deny that they physically attacked me. To this day they will not admit that they choked me. It was one of the most intense physical encounters I’ve ever had with anyone, but they are adamant that I invented the memory. I can’t imagine forgetting doing something like that without a TBI, but I do know (multiple forms of) brain damage makes anything possible.
Are there any reports on how German soldiers coped after ww2 with the withdrawal as they were all given ( including Hitler/ georin ) pervitin which is basically meth throughout the war.this us how they were able to perform the blitzkrieg. It would be interesting to find out if there were any tests/ results?
My ex that was very beautiful and looked like Juliet Robert and 21 in 95 when I as dating her for a year. She was using meth when we were going out and still using and now 49. She keeps facebooking me to be friends and I’ve told her many times I didn’t want to get back and stay friends bc of all the abuse she’s put me through. Oh and about 5 years ago, she finally told me she’s bipolar and I guess she didn’t know that before. But she’s not very honest and maybe more like schizophrenia bc even in 95, I’ve seen her in psychosis state and made poor decisions. So when I saw the 3 photos I saw on fb shocked me bc she looked horrible and over the years, she pretty much looked younger and beautiful when I saw her photo about 10 years ago. Anyway. It’s really tough to see someone destroy themselves and hurt themselves and knowing they can’t or won’t kick the meth habit.
I tried it, and really didn’t like it. It made me feel unlike myself, like my brain couldn’t work anymore. I understand why people would like it, if you are unhappy with yourself. I honestly am not judging, most of us have something we don’t like about ourselves. This particular drug changed my thought process that triggered the cloudy thought process to put me to sleep. It’s a strong and intense feeling, but for me it’s like being told artificially that I am exausted.
I was an everyday user for about a year. I realized i wouldn’t ever be able to get over my problems living in that mindset so i quit cold turkey and have been sober ever since. Been about 8 months now. To all those struggling i pray god gives you strength and heals you from the pain you’re experiencing with life. You are not alone.
I was addicted for 20 plus years I ran the streets stayed awake for weeks sometimes a month with no sleep completely out of my mind sometimes I would get somebody to have sex with me and we would do it for 8 10 12 hours straight I stole I lied I cheated I snuck lost all my friends lost my family and when I finally stop doing it I started a new life a life of alcoholism now I’m almost 60 years old and my life is a blur it’s so hard to relate to I’ve been diagnosed schizophrenic and yet still don’t get any assistance from the state I don’t know how to fix this mess My body hurts all the time I’m in terrible shape and I just stay at home and sit and watch TV not much of a life most days I pray for death I wish I knew how to fix this Hope somebody reads this and changes their mind about what they’re doing with their life
Thanks for speaking on this national health crisis . Its my experience that most are unaware of the catastrophic long term biological fallout of this chemical . The general public, and likely even those that are users or associated arent taking into account the full picture. Societal impoverishment and spiritual devastation. Its not hyperbole folks
Methamphetamine psychosis – AKA – Unclean spiritual attachment I know most people will read that and instantly dismiss it. But I hope you will reconsider that possibility. Maybe at least take the time to find out what that really means. And then compare it to to insaneIy wicked crimes and behaviors that are associated with it. I think you may have a different opinion if you do.
When I was a teen/young adult I experimented with quite a few different drugs, Ive tried this one and done it a few times thats how I learned that I want nothing to do with this one. You feel better to start (even though it feels like a “fake” better) then you feel like crap and a piece of doo doo later, I didn’t see the point to this. I also saw what it can do to people…..YIKES!!!!
I’m a recovering addict with 8 years sober. My drug of choice was meth. I was a heavy addict for about 6 years. I believe I have a long term affect from my chronic drug use that I never hear from others. My ability to enjoy things is diminished. Now I don’t mean to say I’m not happy, it’s more like nothing excites me anymore. In my recovery I attribute this to the constant release of dopamine over the years of drug use and now my brain doesn’t release it like it did before my drug use. Is this a possible diagnosis for lack of excitement.
America has a full blown mental health crisis on it’s hands, I’m sure in large part because of addiction to these totally mind bending drugs. I was offered meth before and I am sooooooooooo glad that I had the good sense to turn it down. I didn’t have the same good sense with crack, but I was able to quit that pretty easily without any kind of withdrawal.
I’ve lost few friends to meth. Problem is when you taking it and you have some underlying heart problems and you don’t know about it them it might be fatal for you as it was for my friends. They’ve passed very young..mid 20’s and early 30’s. Also know peoples who’s taking in for over 20 years..They might have stronger hearts but you can see the mental scars on them and they’re totally different personalities as they’ve been back in the day.. It’s nasty stuff.Problem is that the high is just unbelievably good and that’s why you can get hooked up pretty easy and fast. Coming down is exactly as the guy at beginning of this article described it. I’ve also had a few weeks while on it in my life and I’m happy that never get hooked up.Thank god. Stay away from it people
Was a heavy drug user circa the 2010’s.my DOC was any opiate you could get me (as long as it was strong enough). I’ve tried meth maybe 2-4 times max. I really didn’t like it and actually it didn’t feel much different from the adderall I had tried in hs and college. It’s quite interesting how it’s described here as the best you ever felt times 1k. Because for me that feeling came from opiates like heroin fent ect. I really think that depends on what feeling you like and what you’re looking for. When it came to any upper I almost always avoided it like the plague. I wanted to shut my thoughts down not amplify them. And I HATED not being able to sleep from uppers. Anyway been done with all that crap since around 2018-2019. It’s all fucking awful and horrific and it nearly destroyed my life entirely in more ways than a couple. Just curious how it’s all described as “the best feeling ever times 1k”.
I am a current user and I’m not proud to admit it.. I have used off and on for about 10 years, but I have been using almost everyday for the last 4 years. My relationship with meth is very contradictory… Like I have no desire to stop but I want to quit so bad! I don’t really experience delusions very often. That all depends on my sleep depravity which is seldom and my environment. I feel like it is starting to take a toll on my brain… my memory, ability to enjoy things even when I am high. But I initially wanted to inquire about the new studies that they are implementing to help me quit without going to rehab. I just don’t want to meet any more new addicts, because that is what happened the last time. Just quitting is not the best option either because it makes me very mean and irritable if kept awake. My wife don’t deserve that.
My brother is an addict to meth and now he has psychosis where he talks to someone all the time that isn’t there. He says it is the devil talking to him and that everyone else is against him. He was living with my mom and he destroy her house and we had to call the cops because my mom thought he would kill her. Now he is homeless and we try to help him but he gets very angry saying his ok and denies hearing voices. We don’t know how to help him, I call SARC but all they said is he has to call and want to get help. His been to rehab twice but this time he really lost himself. There has to be a better system to help my brother how can he ask for help when his no longer in his right mind. My family and I don’t know what to do anymore.
Im about to turn 14 and my mother abd father both use meth and they commonly are always paranoid, and my father is having hallucinations. Which is sad to see, i wish i could tell him to stop but, im very scared, and my mother is very agressive so, i always dont talk to her, i also dont live with her, sometimes i just wish i could just end it all.
Someone close to me had these episodes and I really didn’t know what was going on. I knew he had tremendous anxiety, and I guess I just thought it was really heightened at those times. I wasn’t aware he was experiencing psychosis because I just didn’t know anything about meth or meth abuse. I felt really stupid when he told me later what was going on during those times.
I’ve been through it, a very deep psychosis. It was very spiritual and hard for others to understand. The same psychosis that broke me led me to God and I quit meth cold turkey. But I’ve seen others who didn’t gain an understanding. I spent days awake studying spiritual paths while others were out stealing. I’m sure everyone has a different psychosis but I see a lot of similarities as well.
After about 2 days of staying up on meth I not8ce that everything starts to look like it’s moving on it’s own or. As if everything starts to take on a life of its own, I’ve always wondered why that happens. I don’t Believe in “meth psycnosis” it’s not a hallucination shit really starts coming to life lol
In Australia You had Methedrine (i forgot pharm/chemical company who made it),but was taken off the market in middle or late 1960s .What is interesting, there was also Methedrine 10 mg injection for i.M or idk I.V application ? probably for barbiturate overdose. .But i have found sth else—-Methylamphetamine (Methedrine) can be given orally in 5-10 mg. doses as an alternative to dexamphetamine. Its main use, however, is by intravenous injection with or without a barbiturate to produce an abreaction in tense, obsessional patients. Such patients often have difficulty in ventilating resentment and hostility, but with the aid of intravenous methylamphetamine their feelings may be released with considerable relief of tension and any associated somatic symptoms.
This is false. The potency is not getting stronger. It’s getting weaker 15 to 20 years ago. When the clean stuff was around the Annie a gram with last you a week and it was around $100 for a gram. Nowadays you can get a gram for 20, 30, 40 bucks and it’s bullshit so whoever tells you is getting stronger, they have no idea what they’re talking about
This guy has his movie synopstesise wrong. “Train Spotting” was about heroin addicts “Requiem of a dream” had YOUNG HEROIN ADDICTS AND AN OLDER WOMAN WHO GOT ADDICTED TO amphetamine pills (and also barbiturates.” It did depict amphetamine psychosis, though the after effects of her refusing to eat forever even when off the drugs is not something I have ever heard of. Anyway, the movie does not specify what kind of amphetamine she was taking, and at the time the movie was set makes it seem unlikely that they were meth. All the manifestions of the psychosis are accurate, however.
Meth got boring for me, all of my friends were stuck on it and would bring it over and give it to me, but I wouldn’t do it after they’d leave. Heroin was what got me dude, either way, you lose yourself on these drugs. I used to have to calm my ex and his friends down when they’d start getting the psychosis because they would not sleep for a week…I started getting terrified of our friends because of it…I can’t believe any of us are still alive.
In our country, we do not have that much stupid people, as in US, therefore we do not have that big problem with drugs… Other thing is, that all informations in article and similar ones are more theory, than scientific proof. There are big ammounts of drug users, who will never have psychosis or look like zoombies. It is not problem of the drugs, it is problem of every person.
I’ve used meth my entire adult life. So you can trust my experience. The genetic aspect is also generational. Generally a first generation can handle the effects better (ie. hold a job, pay bills, etc) if that person has children (2nd generation) and they use meth, it causes them more problems than their parents, and if they have children (3rd generation) they literally have no chance at a normal life. I’ve never seen a 4th generation yet, and I do not care to. Seeing 3rd generations is sad enough. They usually go to prison (Y.A.) before they’re even an adult for committing serious crimes. Of course that also has to do with having been neglected/raised by 2nd generation parents.
He failed to mention the 4th type of meth user. The type that uses meth and does not experience any of the symptoms of psychosis. The study is incomplete and only portrays the negatives of methamphetamine. Show me a complete study without biases. Then I will be impressed and change my vote to 👍. Until then this is just what the Putin does with disinformation to the public. The exclusion of information makes this study false.
I used a rare, but similar drug which had the same effect. But as soon as I realized I was hallucinating I stopped taking it. I continued to hallucinate (hear voices) for about 6 months. A few years later I made the mistake of doing meth, thinking the psychosis was specific to the other drug. Within days the voices were back. Again, I stopped using but continued to have episodes of psychosis for a few more years. During this time even THC would bring back hallucinations so I only smoked CBD weed for many years. It’s now been 4 years since I’ve had an episode. I can smoke cannabis again without problems now. I believe I have come out the other side. SO, if this starts happening to you or someone you know, THERE IS HOPE IF YOU IMMEDIATELY QUIT and stick with it.
If substances have ever been a problem, you gotta get clean off of everything. Including caffeine and nicotine. You don’t have to do it all at once, in fact gradual is probably better so you don’t get a hard headed attitude. Just admit to yourself you have a strong impulse to escape your own feelings. Or maybe that’s just me. For me, finding out how caffeine and nicotine became so much part of my life, keeps me in disbelief that I ever used meth or opiates.
Has anyone had any success with psilocybin treatment? I don’t care about clinical trials, as I don’t expect them to really exist anyway. I had a psychotic episode, not drug induced; I took some mushrooms and when i came down all the voices and thoughts stopped. Permanently. The trip was a nightmare but so was my life. Episodes of depression have been fewer but still exist. I have a old friend with meth induced psychosis. Even time in prison and off the drugs didn’t help.(i assume he was off during that time) Psilocybin saved my life and I’m positive of that. I really want to save my friend.
If someone experiences meth psychosis is it obvious to them afterwards that the meth was causing it or ? How does that work, it seems like if someone knew they went crazy & meth caused it then they’d quit or cut back at least… Or doesn’t it work that way, do they not know the meth is causing it or do they know & keep using anyways
Thise with BPD rage issues look for happiness and calming joy rush of certain chemicles related that tend to aggrevate the harsh post effects.Burnouts are well related to these chemocles effect on tbe overdrive and depletion of neurotransmitters and the coping defense hormones if cortisol and dopamine that extend to tbe .Psychosis. The big elephant needs addressing and not lucrative sajes therapies and meds
My severlyvalcholic friend did heavy meth and ” blues” along with crack and daily heavy vodka. Now he is in a Shelter and says people who used to live upstairs are in his head allll day talking, commenting…it gets worse when he is sober . What a can I do? He is angry id I tell him he is brain damaged.
Humans have and always will use some type of chemical! It’s just the way it is!! When hungry I eat when tired I sleep! The only time is now and the only place is here! The love of material gain is the root of all evil! All things have polarity and are needed for balance in the Universe! For all happy people there are an equal amount of people sad! Love and hate! Hot and cold are the same thing separated only by degrees! All things are needed and are necessary! Peace to you all
I have been an addict since I was 16 and I’m 39 now!! I can honestly say that I have never ever had any psychosis or hallucinations or anything at all like that. At first yes I lost a lot of weight and got meth pimples. But I’ve never picked at my skin the way this has described nor I have ever seen anyone with scabs like what this article has shown. Yes my teeth are messed up do to the chemicals I’m inhaling. But I mean I don’t get paranoid or sketched out. I eat just fine and I sleep every single night for 6-8 hours a night. Yes my mind is going faster then my mouth can move and I move faster then none users. But I grantee you if I was standing next to a none user the only way you could tell who’s who is my teeth which I have gotten a lot of work done to them. I’m a normal person like everyone else in the world. I’m a functional addict which means I can keep a good paying job and pay my bills on time and be a responsible good parent. So I do not believe anything in this article. Sorry
Used meth for 45 years since 1976 and still use almost daily. I have seen everything that you mentioned in this vid. It seems to me that females are effected differently than males. I know tweakers, the ones that get paranoid, the ones that run around freaking out. But I never got paranoid and for the last three years it is pretty much my coffee in the morning. Don’t get really high do not use after 12 in the afternoon, eat sleep my biggest issue is sweating tons and keeping my fluid levels up. You learn things after 45 years as a addict. I am 62 and in Augusta Ga meth is cheap cheap cheap A ounce once sold for $1500 or more today its $150 to $300.And yea I have heard everything from everybody I guess I am a function addict.
😢Yeah meth is probaby the worst drug…My kids mother got really bad on it at first she would tell me that I had other girls living with us and beat the shit out of me & telling are kids that they where hiding girls in the house for me. When it got really bad she would tell me that shes God and the world was gonna end and she was the choosing one who got to pick who to build the new world with. Shes been locked up for 2 yrs now and its crazy because she still hears voices in her head she talks to them I feel like I’ll never get her back…Now its just me and are 3 kids & my kids don’t want anything to do with her Ive got 18 teen 10yr 9yr But I still Love her with all my heart….I just wish this drug was never made…I think shes messed up so much more then other people because shes bipolar too….But thanks for the insight for helping me know more bout this drug…Ive been with this woman for 22yrs shes all I know…
Genuine question and I’m sorry if you go over this: what is the difference between street meth and a pill of it from a pharmaceutical company (not d-amp, or mix amp, literally meth in a pill from a pharmacy and prescribed). Does this come down to the dose making the poison or does the difference in manufacturing effect the molecule add different molecules that makes this “new meth” more likely to cause psychosis?
I can tell you from personal experience, the meth that’s most prominent on the market is not exactly the same meth that ravaged this country in the ’90s to about 2008. Its a 50/50 mix of D meth and L meth where the old stuff was just D meth. Shake n bake meth doesn’t cause the rapid onset of psychosis like Ice does. I’ve even tested this by switching from ice back to the old shake n bake and noticed that with shake and bake meth I was able to keep my wits about me while on copious amounts and on several day binges but with ice my world rapidly spirals into suicidal thoughts brought on by psychosis like symptoms. Sadly ice is so cheap that shake n bake cooks are forced out of the market as it’s cheaper to just buy ice than to cook a batch. Capitalism has fucked our nation yet again
I’m going out on a limb here, but then again I’m not ! I have used for a total 24yrs (16-24yrs old/ 40 -to present day 7/2023) now I was sober from those yrs I between . I’m no organic chemist, but I can.say from exp.alone that what I’m doing to is nothing like what I did back 8n 1985 – 199e ! That stuff would literally get you so spun out on just a qrtr.vram. 2 people could do a .50 on a Fri .nite and still have enuff sat.nite to go thru until Monday. And you would vibrate. Fast forward 2008,now this was still really good speed up until here in like the last 5/6 yrs has potency gone to shit I can do a 7.0 grams in a week no problem . So when I here the people : cops, you, media, etc sit and tell me that it’s more pure and potent …I call shenanigans.i want what you got, because I’m getting mine straight from the source almost and I’ll do 1.75 grams or more a day.
i hold down a hard working job as a rigger (steel fixer in america) and i literallly smoke meth everyday – and i guarabntee im not missing any teeth tapping my foot being a weird cunt, stealing copper or anything else. all thyat shit at the start of the article – thats the person – not the drug. i know people that do it everyday, work for the goivt and you wouldnt know unless they told ya. it comes down to the person.
I have Bipolar 2 Disorder and I am nearly immune to it. I have tried it in its prescription form and it only affected me like coffee. It was just a mild stimulation. Bipolar 2 is mostly depression, though. If someone with Bipolar 1 disorder uses it, it would most likely push them into a manic state. I am dopamine deficient, which is why it does very little to me.
Is it not possible that something is being attracted to those using the drug? Maybe they do this to gain their own access to meth or something in it that they need to survive. I say this as a previous long term user but I took hours and hours of article and pic and I can’t explain what I see in them . Nor can others that I show. Some are subtle but some are so obvious they cant be denied. I think this psychosis thing was started to cover up what users are actually experiencing.
Watching this to try to understand how one of my “ex friends” changed on me since he started using couple years ago…… we haven’t talked or seen each other for like 4 years now but lately he’s been able to find my socials, harassing me, making up fake stories and dramas. Mentioning people I don’t even know bout. Stories that makes no sense. Threatening to get my son taken from me over false claims that his mind could think of…. And I’m just sad and confused about all this…. I wish for everyone to get thru their addiction. 😢
I tell you how it feels from my personal experience. When I first started meth I remember just having such high energy. Feeling likes I was invincible, i was introvert but when I started taking meth I couldn’t stop talking to people, it left people stunned solely cause they didn’t know of someone who could go that long talking . The more I took the more I started to lose my shit. The less sleep I got the more hallucinations I got. One day turned to two, 2 to 3, etc. there were weeks at a time I would be up fully energized just waiting for my next shift to start. A thing I hate that people don’t truly understand about it is that your responsibilities drop drastically. In your eyes you think you are doing something positive. On the outside you show everyone how crazy you are. There were times where my friends would tell me stories about me scratching the floor, yelling at someone, searching for dope where there wasnt any to begin with. The only thing I enjoyed about it was the nonstop sex. I could go at it for hours and I enjoyed all the sex I got. There were a couple times where I got meth bites, just imagine your whole body just spiking of itch. Taking a cold shower along with ant itch cream. IT never worked not once, I would think it was in my head . I had rashes head to toe, it was unbearable. I hate this thing called meth for real. You find your way back into my life when I don’t need you. I have an addictive personality and I know that. It’s so easy for me to pick something up so fast.
Do you think being introverted or extraverted has anything to do with how it affects those who do it? Doesn’t dopamine have different effects on introverts and extroverts? So how does this connect? Also, are you saying the drugs cause the disorders or that it effects those who already have these disorders like this? I have also seen users who do not have loss of appetite, sleeping disorders or delusions of paranoia. What is the cause of these extremes in different individuals? Why are some users so extreme, and others so hard to tell apart?
Is it the meth on it’s own or the fact that you go days without sleep? Being awake for days on end without any drug’s has 99.9% of the same side effects ( 72hr without sleep & you start to hallucinate without drugs ) discussed in this article. Meth play’s a part in keeping you awake for long periods of time…. So is it the drug it’s self or is it in fact the lack of sleep?
It never happened to me, thank whatever, but I watched certain folks, I partied with, do the “freak out” – they had done so much they had a tipping point and would fixate on ONE THING (usually negative) and u could not dissuade them from that. If it happens to them once, they are more susceptible to the freak out, from then on. And Trainspotting was about heroin, not meth.
In the past few years meth addicts and dealers have moved into my apartment building,, and omg are they the most abusive people I have ever met! They ARE psychotic. for example the traffic all night and if you tell someone to shut up because it’s 4 am they threaten to kill you and then DO assault you at a later date. Then people have a sympathy for them because they see them as addicts who can’t control themselves. Well a drunk driver can’t control himself yet drunk driving is illegal. Maybe we should let drunks off the hook because afterall an alchoholic is an addict,,,awwww poor addict.
One More Time!! It is NOT what you do, but what you do with it. Alcohol is legal yet on a daily basis someone gets in their care and kills someone. Do you know how many people I have known, that get drunk and do stupid shit to people and then dont remember the next day!? “Go ahead drink the wine, I give this to you. Just DO NOT GET DRUNK AND CAUSE YOUR FELLOW HARM”
Quick question. I had a bunch of brain scans last year and I had the white matter stuff in my brain also and I used methamphetamine from the age of 12-39. Is that normal to have that in your brain after years of abuse? I was wondering about that but my neurologist didn’t think it was a big deal. I’ve also got an empty sella which also is not a big deal with her, should I see someone else? I’ve got 5 1/2yrs in recovery now and I work as an Integrated Healthcare Recovery Support Specialist and BHT at a residential rehab so it feels good to give back!
I know the girl in the orange jail uniform top, with her arms all open wounds, that is not from meth, she was extremely addicted to cocaine, and her boyfriend was a dealer so she had a lot of access to it. She finally talked her mom into bailing her out, and about a week later she was back in jail, I asked her why she was back and she said, for shooting coke, and I said omg where did you find a vein? she said in her leg! I just shook my head…. I have often wondered what happened to her, I hope she finally got clean, she is a really sweet girl, who is/was hopelessly addicted.
We went through almost the exact same thing with my baby brother. It was hell, not just for him but for all of us. That was almost ten years ago. After all this time it still feels like an arm or leg was amputated, but I can still feel it. It’s traffic that there is no legal way to help these people. At a certain point, they can no longer make rational decisions. They need help. Our society has the attitude of “well, nobody forced them to take it, so we’re going to ignore them”. My brother was kind, thoughtful, helpful, non-judgemental, witty, and really funny. He loved animals, especially dogs. He suffered from severe depression most of his life. The world became a bit darker when he died. At least in California they’re trying something new. The judge will have the option of sending people to secure treatment centers rather than jail.
I spent an entire decade with an alcoholic meth. user. I have never used eighter. This causes no moral compass. There is no actual truth in anything they speak. Nothing they say can or will be backed up in action or integrity. This was the second experience I have had actually. I watched my husband go to 13 years state prison due to meth. psychosis. Believe me I don’t even try to help anymore ! Lesson learned.
Its the true philosopher’s stone. Those aren’t hallucinations it induces,as a futurist American Indian shaman the church I’ve founded uses it as the main tool which,as the intent of the shaman, to commune with the aether realm, these are real and as per the scientific method can be proven in the process i use. It shouldn’t be done by everyone, for just as the tribe has but one shaman, so does the church have one high priest. all this is related and the nature of what it is has to do with the tin foil hat conspiracy and as the population is being brought up to speed on brain to cloud signal intelligence interfaces it must be understood that there is a invisible world and the bible is true but it isnt for the faint of heart .
I still have scars on my face from thinking there were bugs in my skin. The first time I felt like a walking static TV. The static you see on your TV is how my legs and body felt as well as the feeling of lifting your foot up to walk with a thousand pound rock weighing you down. Before I got clean from all substances, I OD’d many times, I thank God every day that I’m still here. Thankfully though I am 14 years clean and sober from all substances. Pray for these people because they are hurting, they are living in shame, they don’t have much control, they’re human beings with the disease. People make fun of tweakers all the time and I can’t stand it because if you aren’t in an addict’s shoes then you really don’t have much to say on the matter
Idk I hate meth with a passion. I hate meth addicts. I tried it once and it sent me straight into psychosis. I have schizoaffective bipolar, very bad combo. I see what it does to people and starting a substance like this is really dumb imo. I’ve been a addict before but I liked opiates. I tell these people doing this drug that think they can handle mental illness. Meth can cause you to develop a mental illness. It’s not fun and nothing is easy about living with it.
Over $400 a gram? I’m glad I didn’t get into that habit! The prices here in the US are around $100 a gram or less, which the prices are low because the drug cartels are making large quantities of it and are willing to give you a couple of pounds for free but you have to do what they say and pay it up front the next time!
I have a close friend who has schizophrenia but also a meth addiction. He has depo injections of anti psychotic every fortnight but he misses getting these for weeks at a time. He tweaks pretty much all of the time now, and his mental state with persecution delusions and his online activities can be concerning. He idolises a serial killer and creates articles with himself dancing with a large knife, he does this because he believes what he puts on social media affects others so much that he can control them. He also has delusions of grandeur believing he has model looks and will take hours upon hours taking hundreds of selfies and uploading them to social media. Also doing his hair for hours. I would be interested in a article on to what does taking meth do to someone already with schizophrenia? Its going to make symptoms worse for them, but what im concerned about is the potential risk to themselves or others if they are nit medically managed. Alot of the behaviour Ive seen increase over time has been risk taking behaviours without concern or even thought of consequences. And that includes behaviour that might be offensive or inappropriate particularly online without a thought of affecting those around him. Im wondering if the damaging affects of meth on the brain may be worse for someone with schizophrenia?
It’s a spiritual thing people- The Devil knows you are engaging in physical stimulation- He’s the giver of pleasure and pain- Once you worship the pleasure he sends you pain in the form of demons that will mentally torture you until you’re straight again- Worship The Lord Thy God And Him Only Shalt Thou Serve- Anytime one engages in physical, carnal pleasure, the Devil loves it and knows he’s got you on the hook- The paranoia comes from principalities and powers railing against you and attacking your peace
When we were young we had regular amphetamines and ecstasy when we used to go raving every other weekend. I know it’s not the same as meth because it’s only a 10-12 hour high. I always remember taking 3-4 days to recover after those nights I can’t begin to understand how people are staying awake for days or weeks taking this along with not eating. I’m surprised addicts last longer than 6 months tbh. That’s serious abuse of your body
I want to ask how people get their on hands on these massively fully synthesized garbage on steroids, amphetamines and methamphetamines are one of the most useless garbage, including cocaine, heorin. Do they have an ideation or curiosity inclined or they get it through deception like being offered something what they asked for and slowly are being laced and their weed dealer is like a silent killer they don’t know and build relationship withs and slowly psychologically ask “Hey, these stuff are the new weed, it’s a new strain” but then you don’t know what’s inside.
What you have failed to point out is that the psychosis, hallucinations and schizophrenic symptoms are 100% due to the sleep deprivation; not the drug itself. Anyone who’s managed to keep themselves awake for days at a time (a very difficult task) will experience all these symptoms; even if they’ve managed to do it using coffee. And on the other side of the coin, people who have used meth for many years but keep it to small, irregular doses and get 8 hours of sleep every night experience NONE of these symptoms. That’s a fact. Source: my own 20+ years use of methamphetamine.
in summary (wish youtubers like this would spend more time on the ground gathering actual empirical data vs the stuff thats second hand from other nerds on the spectrum) youll end up in (mostly) sexual psychosis alot quicker than ephedrine based stuff. my brain made the corelation fairly quickly (from cocaine and adderal transition) although with increased purities comes the ability to mix other shit in the bag which is a subject sorely lacking on youtube (i.e. its a bag not a drug, whats in the bag is what you do right).
I had it this weekend just gone & hallucinated intensely for around 8 hours.. none stop.. with maybe 3 second breaks now & then & it was impossible to make it stop. Luckily I stayed calm & took it all in .. this was my first time taking it & I think it interacted with one of my meds. Luckily I’ve done lots of drugs before.. so I managed it. But some of it was pretty scary. If say a person doing drugs for the first time, if this happens.. they would panic horribly & end up in hospital.
Thank you for the easy to understand explanation of meth. I’m a former meth addict with six months clean time. It’s a difficult but not impossible journey back to the real world. I do have a question; what about someone who’s been diagnosed with ADDS and has been on some form of amphetamine most of their life. I have a friend who has been diagnosed with ADDS and started out with Ritlalin and has graduated to Adderall. He’s showing signs of amphetamine psychosis. Is there hope for him!
While I appreciate someone bringing attention to this, there are loads of falsehoods in the presentation. For example, this drug NEVER commands $400-700 per gram. That would make it impossible for most people to buy and/or consume it. The fact that many people do it frequently but responsibly never makes it into the argument…and street purity is usually MUCH higher than what they claim.
The fact that these people use this drug and all drugs in general are used mainly as a way to escape when in actuality they are meant for enhancment of a mind that is developed and driven. Not for people who have already given up on life because all it does is enhance the fact they have given up on life…
I use and i swear it has the opposite effect. Nobody would know unless i told them. Im not human i swear lol. It made me go back and finish my degree. It motivated me. It objectively has made me a more complete person. And just cuz you cant handle it doesnt mean that others cant. It exists for a reason
I had meth induced psychosis, was picked up by AFP (Australian Federal Police) wandering around the airport.. because I stole 15k from work defrauding fake timesheets for months, while high on the drug. In my head I wanted to fly to Sydney to apologise to my company, the AFP called the ambulance because I was out of my mind, thinking they sent hitmen to kill me. I ended up in the psych ward and put on an involuntary health order for 12 months. Work didn’t press charges.. I’m 4 years clean 🙏
Truly disgusting drug the lowest thing someone can do Themselves. I’ve been seeing the same woman on and off for almost 5 1/2 years now she was so incredibly beautiful her spirit alive two innocent children. She brought into this world as well as a gift from God.. What she’s done to herself, losing her children now, losing me as I had to alienate myself from her, regardless of the love that I have still for this woman. To see her constantly picking at her face and arms and legs, creating scabs and puss is truly disgusting. How do you have the heart to tell somebody who you love this much, what they are doing is not only a major turn off, but it is absolutely nauseating and disgusting disturbing to watch I love you, Bianca. I always will but what you’re doing to yourself God help you.
I have had it pretty bad after 3 or 4 days awake however I will say when I used to use.. Women go completely bonkers right after they smoke.. My ex girlfriend used to burst into the room and ask me who i was talking to about her in my room when it was just me and her.. Ive witnessed another girl stay in a bathroom for 10 hours picking her face..very happy to be sober and away from that stuff.. its only benefit is if used as a sexual enhancement drug but other than that it is the destroyer of lives
I have watched many documentries on meth. I know for a fact what is shown on what it can do to a person is not all true i agree that ut can do what is shpen to do yo people. Something in their body mskeup doesnt mesh. BUT it doesnt do this to all. I did this drug for 30 years. I didnt have the same effects as yhese people. It never made me hear voices or get paranoid. My teeth was never effected nor was my body image. There are many that ude this drug and they show no signs. It seems like all these shows deem to use the worse people
The worst part is partially waking up in the middle of a dream and your limbs are dead and it hurts to move and you yell “wake up” and hit yourself, even pour water on yourself and you still can’t wake up. Then you might fall and hit your face on a table or something. And it lasts for 5-10 minutes. Scary
I see many blinds in the audience but alot of construction of narrative vector flow direction miss and hit… Some should know how hard chemicals they treat as water soluble Vitamins but it’s ALSO A FACT that most important thing is for us humans to stop thinking everyone within normal range education is even capable of understanding the basic science to understand what the implications of the drug is, or what parts are worse (intake Freq/dose over halfway metabolic Waste because of the intake route) but especially how methamphetamine basically is halfway through The process of making a more Boomer substance of Amphetamine… Or perhaps the deep insomnia related comorbidity factors which is endless…. Truth is no neurological treatment is in any real way safe, we are not going to say anything about we got this one figured out….but yes I am fully agreed that we shouldn’t medicate in any ways above a risky ness off less than half that of injection or inhalation of halfway through the cleaner molecules (they’re all dirty in some way) but let’s get real with the fact that somewhere somehow this can be a good option being presented by the unwillingness to actually conduct real neurotrophic research as this was illegal to even do research on the most important kind of types of mild neurotrophic psychedelics within the Phikal/Thikal corpus as one author and researcher tested all the drugs you’re unaware are not even known as been out… The study and research that Chemical wonder man of true Frontier spirit of the most secret societies within our society called the clandestine chemists and for everyone’s else’s safety and care Psychonauts (Inner space frontier explorer) .
Is it true you see like worms crawling out of your skin . My animals had fleas and I felt something crawling in my hair but before they were in my shoes and I work at a hospital for housekeeping and I said something and they said nothing was in my hair and even had red bite marks on my head and they thought I was on meth . 😅
Schizophrenia has nothing to fo with meth and vice versa. So please stop implying that. Once merh psychosis goes away it DOES NOT come back unless you start using meth again. Please dont speak on something you dont know about. Are you a drug counselor??? Or an addictionologist?? (A doctor who actually has a degree in addiction???? Or a former addict???? Pls let ne know. Waiting to hear from you .. oh and btw the movie trainspotting is about heroin addiction. Why would you put that here when you are talking about meth???? Just wondering.
Ive been in a psychosis 2xs. Scariest thing I ever experienced. They put ketamine in it. I cld not receive help. No one much believed me what I was experiencing. I was a t.i. I underwent wind therapy, psychosomatic writing & hypnosis. I was gangstalked. I relived my past. I got ptsd from it. I cld go into it for days. I know other ppl went thru it. If it’s psychosis how did we have the exact same experience? Wldnt it be different?
