Does Paper Transfer Function On Denim?

To transfer patterns onto denim fabric, two popular options are iron on transfers and screen printing. Iron on transfers are a dynamic printing technology that involves pressing a hot iron onto transfer paper, working inward from the outside edges. The image will transfer to the denim, and the iron should be kept moving in large circles to prevent the image from melting.

There are two popular methods for transferring patterns onto denim fabric: iron on transfers and screen printing. Iron on transfers are a simple method, where you print out the desired pattern, scribble it on the back of the paper with a pencil, and place the paper over the jacket. Arrange the image side of the transfer paper face-down on the desired location on the denim.

Heat transfer paper specifically designed for dark fabrics is the ideal choice for transferring designs onto denim. Carbon paper is used when the fabric is too dark or thick to use a see-through transfer. If the denim is very dark, white may be used. Fabric transfer paper, also known as iron-on transfer paper or heat transfer paper, allows you to transfer images, designs, or text onto various fabrics like cotton, polyester, and denim.

Custom denim items like jeans jackets are trendy and popular, making them a hot selling item for businesses. They are easy to decorate and can be applied to T-shirts, jeans, bags, jackets, quilts, banners, and home textiles. Jacquard Transfer Paper is an iron-on transfer method for light or dark fabrics.

  • So…I hope you can answer this question…. I have martial arts jackets, 6-8 oz weight, cotton-poly mix. Using DTF from good company, heat at 320 for 20 seconds, 90% of the logo stays on, but the rest doesn’t stick to the fabric. I have tried both hot and cold peels, and its hit or miss. I have reached out to both the manufacturer of the jacket and the DTF company, they have both given good advice, but still its not sticking. I am using a standard clam heat press.
