He exalted himself as if he was Jesus. Is this not the same man ? I truly hope he has actually received the spirit and accepts Jesus as The Lord the Messiah. I haven’t heard alot of that talk from him though. We are called to love each other yes, were also called to test the spirit. This man only a few months ago publicly mocked my Lord, Jesus Christ . I think uninformed people mistake judging and discernment. I think people should be skeptical until they hear his testimony. Clearly his testimony in his recent album and sunday services indicates he was saved but you will know them by their fruit..so time will tell but the Christian community should keep him and his wife in prayer.
I’d rather be called “Redeemed” than a Christian. I have not called myself a Christian for over 20 years but I know my Messiah who shed His blood for me and rose from the dead. The song you just quoted is not even about Jesus it’s about Kanye :/ I think we need to be super careful of lyrics of any song and if it has sound doctrine in it. We shouldn’t mindlessly sing or say words.. Then we are no better than the heathen.. Also chrisitians are not making a hypocritical judgement but we are called to test the spirits of teachers/preachers. So if Kanye is teaching something that is different from doctrine then yes we have to make a judgement call on it.
My 60th birthday is today, but my re-birthday was 14.5 years ago. Kanye clearly has been born again and is like us who just want to only talk about Jesus and preach His Word. I had sent those lyrics to the Hands On song to some condemning “Christians” because that persecution is the worst to deal with personally. The church wrote me a letter to leave when I said the Holy Spirit was speaking to me and had told me to get re-baptized. The first baptism didn’t count because there had been no repentance and receiving of the indwelling Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38 has repent and be baptized for the remission of sins. Kanye’s songs proclaim the name of Jesus and there is power in the name to get the demons to flee. One song has JESUS sixteen times! Our prayer for the lost has been 2 Peter 3:9 wanting all to come to repentance, so another one into the kingdom is quite an answer to prayer. Believers were told by Jesus’ red letter words in Revelation 2-3 to REPENT and be victorious overcomers in order to escape the judgments coming from God to this world, so if you don’t know Revelation and aren’t perusal for Jesus to come for His Bride like Matthew 25, it is time to repent and get on fire reading your Bible like your life depends on it. 1 Thessalonians 4 says what is going to happen with the dead rising first from their graves and then we will be changed into spiritual bodies and fly up to Jesus too. The Bible never lies and 25% is prophecy. The prophets said Jesus would be born of a virgin in Bethlehem hundreds of years before it actually happened!

Then, I could see him getting fed up with Hollywood. Then his rants, I was seeing it unfold. When he went to see Donald Trump, I started praying God to help him to get saved and God help him in the way of Salvation because I could see that Kanye was looking for a way out of Hellywood. We, as Christians, actually ARE supposed to judge….and have discernment….however, another aspect of this is there certainly ARE things that we are NOT supposed to judge….for instance….we cannot know what is in the heart of another…..only God can know such a thing…..I think that how we CAN judge, and in fact, are called to judge…is when something that a person (or ourselves!) do, that is clearly against scripture….what the Bible TELLS US TO DO….(and that being the KJV)….. And we are DEFINITELY called to pray for one another….for sure!

The thing is sweetie, Its not that their judging him. They’re more rather, criticizing him. I think judging is a misused, extreme term that we’ve used wrongly for decades, regardless of the actual definition. However, I totally agree with you though. To highlight the unaccepting notion, certain people outlaw Kanye because their being super critical of his past. But the real issue is that these are kinds of people who have not repented of certain characteristics, from their “old” life and have brought it, into their so called new life.. these traits are obviously super critical thinking, pessimistic views or approaches, one sided, prideful perspectives, double standards and clique mindedness, which being clique minded, is very discriminative. Aside from all that though, I thank you soooo much for your acceptance, seeing that you are no different from Yaye, in God’s eyes. Hearing you and one other guy, is a breath of fresh air. I say so because I’ve noticed that some white American Christian’s are the same people that said give Trump a chance, but won’t give Kanye a chance.. I know of one, personally. Amen and thrilled to see a life made new inn Christ. Yet what was Paul’s response to questions of other believers? Very legitimate and wise questions mind you. After all could you blame them for thinking that perhaps Saul will kill them or their family or that it was trap. Today we are also to be wise and not naive. We are to stay vigilant and watch for wolves in sheep’s clothing and be on watch for those who would come to cause harm to true children of God. Yet Paul’s response was MATURE for he spent much time with the Holy Spirit before ministering in public. Paul gained wisdom and maturity in the Lord before ministering at a high level. In other words Paul became a disciple of the Holy Spirit. PAUL DID NOT ACT AS A VICTIM OF JUDGMENTAL BELIEVERS BUT HE ACTED AS TRUE BROTHER. PAUL LOVINGLY AND PATIENTLY RESPONDED TO HIS “New Family” the body of Christ. Paul knew and understood their legitimate questions because he himself truly knew the Lord not in simply word but after years of walking with Him and spending countless hours consecrating himself in the Lords presence, learning of His Spirit. Let us be mature knowing there are no shortcuts to maturity in Christ. Would you have an immature believers guiding your own babies?? I think and hope not. The word says to TEST ALL SPIRITS and to practice discernment and that you will know others by their fruit. In this day and age it is wise to question and test. Being careful and perusal out for others in the flock is not evil if you don’t have the plank in your eye and have repented and changed. Then it is time to help pull it out of a brother or sister and keep the wolves at bay too with Jesus help. Many false prophets are released into the world in these last days and will harm many not sparing the flock. — Acts 20: 29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. — Kanye has put out extremely blasphemous things in the past and we need to examine his fruit and give him time and we will see what is real. It will become obvious. He has suffered with a complex in the past where he felt like he was a god even and wore a crown of thorns and called himself Yeezus and allowed a book of Yeezus to be made replacing his name with God’s. He forces people to all raise their hands to him at concerts in the past for worship seemingly because he called out a handicapped person in the crowd and made everyone focus on the one person not raising hands to bully and shame them wickedly into Kanye worship. Prayers for Kanye in Jesus name all the way. For now the man should be being instructed by a Godly faithful preacher of the Word and reading the Word of God and not preaching in front of a congregation. Sure “we don’t see the heart,” however Jesus Christ goes on to remind us that what our hearts are filled with, it comes out through our mouths. Wow, so we do see the heart. We see Kanye who wants to “innovate Christianity.” To Kanye West and his brethren, God the Father, Jesus Christ and God Holy Spirit and the Apostles aren’t effective at salvation and as the innovator as another writer put it, “Kanye West is going to be the face of Christianity,” and not His namesake, the One only Son of God Jesus Christ who died in each of our places, who loved us, and gave Himself for our atonement, our redemption by His blood. Remember this word from Jesus in Luke 6 : 45 “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart, brings forth that which is good, and an evil man out of evil treasure of his heart brings forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Lastly, Jesus Christ says, “…we shall know them by their fruit…” (Matthew 7:15-20) “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheeps clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. I’m not saying he not truly searching for the truth and wanting to follow God only God knows, but as Christians we are to judge each other in a loving way, and to keep out those that want to destroy the church. there are lots of TV Evangelist that clam to do God’s work but the only thing they do is keep people from God because they preach lies Dear friends, don’t believe everyone who claims to have the Spirit of God. Test them all to find out if they really do come from God. Many false prophets have already gone out into the world, (1 John 4:1 CEV) In my other letter I told you not to have anything to do with immoral people. But I wasn’t talking about the people of this world. You would have to leave this world to get away from everyone who is immoral or greedy or who cheats or worships idols. I was talking about your own people who are immoral or greedy or worship idols or curse others or get drunk or cheat. Don’t even eat with them! Why should I judge outsiders? It appears as though he has made a radical conversion to Christianity with his new album, his actions, and his words. However, Paul also warns about deceitful workers who transform themselves into angels of light. This comment is being made with unanswered questions regarding if Kanye knows the truth of God and his only begotten Son. Was Kanye baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ according to Acts 2:38? Does Kanye believe that Jesus Christ came in the flesh according to 1 John 4:2-3? Has Kanye received the gift of the Holy Ghost and spoken with other tongues and prophecied according to Acts 10:46? The answers to these questions are the test of a true Christian and a false christian.
Sadie you inspire me so so much! Jesus Christ has radically changed my life! I grew up as a Christian and lost my faith in high school, I turned to partying,alcohol, sex and drugs. By the age of 20 I was living in a tent, homeless with an abusive boyfriend addicted to heroin. The hardest drug there is. There came a point in my addiction where I felt so low, so hopeless and so useless, nothing had worked I had been to rehabs and detox’s, therapists and counselors, I was ready to commit suicide. On that day I found myself ready to commit suicide i heard something inside me say pray. I got on my knees that day and begged God.. I said “if there is a God out there and you can hear me come into my life, I give everything I have to you, just give me a purpose”.. that night something so powerful washed over me to this day it brings me to tears. Today almost two years later I am clean from ALL drugs, own my own apartment, car, work in a hospital as an ER tech and am in college to become a trauma nurse.. but even the craving for heroin have been completely wiped from my mind. Today I pinch myself… as I resuscitate addicts and give breathe to the very person I once was.. it is so true God uses you’re greatest weakness to show his power. Statistics would say impossible. Science would say impossible. But with Jesus Christ ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE. I am A living breathing Witness of the miracles of Jesus Christ. He is not dead. He is so so alive. He performed miracles thousands of years ago.

I’m a Christian 76 year old great grandma and I LOVE what the Lord is doing in Kanye’s life!! All this judging going on is sickening to me! It brings me back to my years in middle school when people criticized me and my girlfriend for wearing lipstick in the fifties. My dad was a preacher and of course I should know better, according to that Christians in our church. I resented it so much I almost turned away from the Lord. But then my mother taught me something very important. She told me to keep my eyes fixed on Jesus and not worry about what others thought of me. I’ve lived my whole life that way I only went to Him with my burdens and my joys. Perhaps all the naysayers and judgmental Christians that are ready to pounce on Kanye should do the same thing! Maybe if they kept their eyes on Jesus and read His letter they would see that Jesus wants us to pray for a new Christian. His vernacular maybe incorrect now, he may even do things that are not christ-like but he’s a baby learning to walk and many Souls are already come to Jesus because of Kanye. Every time I hear his name brought up or I hear his music, I pray for him and ask the Lord to help him grow and his walk with Jesus. I love to watch his Sunday service and every new one gets better then the last. Jesus said, “judge not lest ye be judged in the same manner”. I completely disagree, we are called to test the spirits to see if they are of God or not. We can definitely judge according to Gods word. Just make a righteous judgment. On one of Kanye’s songs that I think you read the lyrics, he said he’s on a strike with the devil. He didn’t say he renounced him. Christians beware don’t just go by your feelings. Kanye is no Paul. Saul became Paul and Kanye wants to to be Christian Genius Billionaire. (Legally change his name) It’s not hard to see what’s happening here. I know this comment won’t be popular but please discern it.
Whether you believe that he is saved or not, these verse sums up everything. At the end of the day, God’s word will not come back void. Mark 9:38-41 “Teacher,” said John, “we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us.” “Do not stop him,” Jesus said. “For no one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me, for whoever is not against us is for us. But I think it’s important for us to remember that if we proclaim that God is the only judge and he himself is the only one to enact vengeance, then it is not our place to judge members of the LGBTQ+ community or women who go on birth control or get abortions. It’s our job to love them, not to condemn them. If we love first as Jesus would, we shouldn’t make that exclusive. So yes, let us not judge Kanye (cause wow… the Gospel is alive in him!!!) but let us not judge anyone else, either.
Great work, Sadie, thank you for this article. I’m with you; as Christians, we are called to love, not to judge. Kanye needs our support and prayers, not our criticism. We would be in grave danger if God calls someone to follow him and we drive him back to the world with all the negative talks and the judgements upon him. With all the negative talks, many are basically implying that he is not worthy of being a child or a servant of God. Many of us that have spoken ill of Kanye’s claim of being a Christian, or simply waiting for him to fall to be able to say, ”I told you so!” Need to repent and ask for God’s forgiveness, regardless of what the outcome may be. Nevertheless, I believe that God will keep him, and if he falls, like the rest of us, he also has an advocate in Jesus; he can repent and go to God for forgiveness. (It’s important to know though, that God’s grace is not a licence to sin).
God is God, He created us. Why are y’all acting like it is impossible, for that man to be saved. P. S . Christianity is not about being black or White, it is about giving your heart to Jesus, believing that he is God son, and confessing, that he had come in the flesh and become Lord of your life, being born again, repenting of your sins and turning away from your former ways, being transformed. I agree that we shouldn’t be judgmental as Christians but Kanye has just appeared at Joel Osteen’s “church” supporting him, even though Joel believes the lie that God will reward you financially for faith and other prosperity Gospel lies that aren’t biblical (or he knows its a lie, but preaches it anyways). Someone needs to lead Kanye from this false teacher. Don’t be judgmental but also don’t assume everything is perfect if someone says Jesus saved them, go to them and make sure they know the true word of God.
Celebrities are just like us, we are all human beings, they shouldn’t be thought of being better than us, and they shouldn’t be treated like they’re for the devil, what person really knows them! Only God knows each persons heart and soul and like you said and what I know is we can’t judge people, only the Lord can do this. The only difference between Kanye and Paul is that Paul took time to sit down and learn who about who Christ was before he got ready to go out and preach. Also Paul had no materialistic gain in all of it but Kanye gains a lot by tapping into the christian music genre. Sorry if im a doubting Thomas but I will have to see Kanye denounce the blasphemous statue of himself with crown of thorns and also his own version of the bible where he replaced Gods name with his own. The Bible doesn’t say don’t Judge read 1corinthians 5 1-12. You can Judge the one that says he is a Christian but the outside God Judge. It even say to stay away from that person but if they don’t know the truth God Judge. I never understood why people say don’t judge me will in sin and confessing to be a follower of God and Jesus
I am reserving judgment. Kayne has a lot to lose and he is risking so much just by standing up publicly for Jesus. That is important to consider and it is not something to take lightly. What have you risked for Jesus today? Beware of judging people because the same standard you use on them God will use on you. I don’t know about you, but I want God to judge me only by the cleansing blood of Jesus.

As a Christian who is desperate to see God moving in someone famous who has a big platform to reach lots of lost people, I couldn’t be more happy to encourage them, pray for them, and support their quest to lead people to Jesus. Lord knows there are too many people with platforms who are teaching things that do not agree with the Bible. I am not at all concerned by Kanye’s past because he wasn’t a born again Christina then. Obviously he made choices that were not very Christ-like. So let’s not talk about his past, he’s not there anymore. I am still somewhat concerned by some of the remarks he’s making now, for example touting that his success in money is from God. While it’s true that God blesses his children, money and success does not equate to being in right standing with God. I pray that Kanye is truly a Christian and not a false prophet. And I will continue to pray for him and pray that he not only teaches God’s love and mercy and grace, but also God’s truth about sin and how the wages of sin is death. You can’t have grace without truth and I just hope he finds a way to win souls without sacrificing truth. And I will be praying for his success in that endeavor!
Not speaking about Kanye, but we’re to judge but not in a judgmental way. We’re not to judge and feel like we’re holy and others are not. 1 Corinthians says Paul was saddened and shocked that the church was allowing sin to exist. Paul said you’re carrying on like nothing wrong but your should be mourning because of the guy who sleeping with his step mother. Even the gentiles don’t sin like that. Basically, Paul is saying that they should of already judged him but since they haven’t yet he had already done it from where he was at. The guy was cast from the church and delivered to Satan to destroy his body. Sickness or even death, who knows. Paul also put a system into place that requires people to judge. If we see a brother or sister in sin we’re to approach, lovingly and talk to them. If they don’t listen to you or the spirit then two or three others and approache them again, if nothing changes the church steps in. Paul also says that we’re to treat unrepented sinners as gentiles and not even eat with them. That requires judging.. We’re to judge sincerely for the good of that brother or sister. We don’t judge to magnify religious works. If your a person who judges wrongly then your faith might as well be based on works, and we all know that’s wrong.

I’m excited and very interested to know what Kanye will do at the end of this. He clearly will have to choose between Jesus and the world. But because of his fame, he may well become the most influential Christian in this world at some point. That’s what excites me. I would LOVE to have him completely on our side. Jonah is an other person that was afraid or did not want to preach to Nineveh. Paul said in 1 Corinthians 5:12-13 What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked person from among you.” So I believe we should judge the people that is are brother in Christ Jesus.
