Curry stains are stubborn due to the presence of curcumin in turmeric, a yellow molecule that can dye clothes. To remove curry stains from clothing, start by scraping off any excess curry and blotting the stain with cool water. Use dish soap and a teaspoon instead of a knife to prevent damage. Pretreat with a prewash stain remover, launder using chlorine bleach or oxygen bleach, and if the stain persists, soak it in a solution of one part hydrogen peroxide.
Apply liquid laundry detergent directly on the stain, rubbing it in gently. Allow it to sit for 30 minutes or as directed on the product label. Wash your clothing by soaking the stained garment in a mixture of water and Ariel Complete washing powder, then washing them with other similar products. Create a one-to-one solution of water and lemon juice, apply to the curry stain, and allow it to sit for 30 minutes. Rinse the area in cool water. Mix 1 tablespoon of vinegar with 2 tablespoons of baking soda, apply to the curry stain, and work in with a soft-bristled brush.
Remove curry stains with baking soda, methylated spirits, vegetable glycerine, eau de cologne, bleach (only use for white clothes and strong fabrics), and vinegar and water. Apply the bleach and water solution to the stain and machine wash the item using detergent and ⅓ cup Clorox® Disinfecting Bleach. Mix one part vinegar with two parts water and apply it to the stain, letting it sit for about 30 minutes.
Run cold water over the stain, soak it in cold water with mild detergent for 20 minutes, and wash the clothing in cold water with regular detergent. Apply a quarter cup of white vinegar to each stain, rubbing it into the fabric to cover all of the curry stains.
