Heat transferring is a popular technique for creating intricate designs on denim. In this video, CraftHTV teamed up with REPRIME to showcase how to apply Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV) onto denim. Using a heat press at the recommended temperature and applying even pressure ensures a strong bond between the vinyl and the denim. There are two common transfer methods: heat transfer and iron-on transfer.
Heat transfer involves using heat to transfer the design onto the denim. Happy Crafters Flock HTV and Shimmer Iridescent Heat Transfer Vinyl can be used to create an edgy jean jacket with a faux embroidered look. With the help of HTV, a Cricut Vinyl Cutter, and a Heat Press, you can unleash your creativity and customize your denim jeans like never before.
Heat transfer is not only feasible but also beneficial for denim due to several reasons. It allows for intricate and unique designs. A DigitalHeat FX white toner printer can be used to customize garments like denim jackets quickly and easily.
To apply HTV to denim, turn on the heat press, set the desired temperature, and adjust the pressure knob. Once pressed, remove the parchment paper and jean jacket, let the white toner transfer cool, and peel back the vinyl.
There are several printable options for HTV, and while vinyl works great on denim, stretch is preferred for simpler colors and longer-lasting designs. However, it is harder to apply without a press.
