Are The Kaedashians Ever Repurposing Clothes?

The Kardashians, a reality TV show, has been a source of inspiration for many celebrities. Khloe, Kourtney, and Khoe all wear different outfits, but the Kardashians have a unique approach to fashion. They rewear clothes 2-3 times before washing them, often wearing them 2-3 days in a row and then throwing them in the wash. This eco-friendly practice is seen as a way to resist fast fashion and save money.

Rewearing clothes can be done when there is no content or if one is not satisfied with previous content. The Kardashians have 144 items in their wardrobe, but only wear around 40 items in that wardrobe. They rewear outfits once a week, embracing the lost art of sewing their own clothes. Most clothes are designed to be worn 50 to 100 times, and if we wore what we already had in our wardrobes this many times, we would find we would be buying and throwing away far less clothes.

Karriage Kloset is the first luxury designer resale site featuring the Kardashian Jenner family’s fabulous and fun clothing. Each authentic item has been hand selected and is now available exclusively for the public. Clothes are meant to be worn over and over again, but there’s an art to making it go unnoticed.

Kim Kardashian recently revealed she rewore a 2011 dress to Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker’s wedding after facing backlash for flaunting her warehouse filled with 30,000 old pieces of clothing. She pulled a surprisingly sustainable move for Kourtney Kardashian’s wedding, dressing like every Kardashian for a week and learning why you should never be afraid to dress like your favorite celebrity.

Kardashian has been working with Baby2Baby since 2013, and she has donated over $500, 000 and $5 million worth of in-kind items of clothing and hygiene products to the children and women the organization serves. They have since distributed 130 million diapers to families in need across the country. The organization has cultivated a powerful group of entrepreneurs, CEOs, actresses, and thought leaders who connect to the mission of Baby2Baby. Their support, whether it’s hosting events in return for hundreds of thousands of dollars for their programs, advocating for diaper tax reform, or donating millions of items from their own companies, has been instrumental in the organization’s success and exponential growth over the past decade.

  • I do feel like this is very realistic to what Kendall wears every day, it seems like these items are actually from Kendall’s wardrobe directly. It irritates me when I watch these episodes and it is so obvious that everything is pulled by stylists and the looks are just overly curated and the celebrities never wear those looks in real life.

  • I was expecting to cringe during this article but I actually think Kendall knows how to style clothes well for her body type (which I guess isn’t the hardest to do when you’re a model). My only major critique is that there isn’t a lot of variety in brands, color scheme, silhouettes, etc. I think everything looks clean and matches well, but to me the true sign of a “stylish” person is someone who can mix and match different textiles, high and low brands, colors and patterns and make it a cohesive look. Kendall definitely has a sense of how to style pieces together, but I don’t know if I would say she has her own “style” because it’s so basic that the only difference between her wardrobe and any suburban girl’s wardrobe is that the basic pieces she wears are high end. I’d like to see her expand beyond just wearing the same 3 brands in the same neutral color palette. Still, much better style than most of her sisters so bravo!

  • Kendall is in this predicament where she openly admits she’s basic & bland. The thing is she’s apart of this fame hungry, extravagant family that pushes their names to the extent that we expect “highest paid fashion model” to deliver something revolutionary accordance to the title. Almost every-time she never does, she plays it safe. I loved to see her experiment for a year & get out of comfort zone but ultimately she doesn’t have to & likely won’t. Ironically if you’re a person looking for a standard basic occasions outfits she’s a good building point inspiration. ( other than the super slim model measurements)

  • The thing about some of her looks – which I mean as a neutral statement – is that I could probably thrift cheaper versions of these same items and achieve these same “looks.” If you’re going to spend money on designer items, wouldn’t you want those pieces to be unique? I think they’re cute, casual looks – for sure! Just nothing standout that I feel like would be worth the cost. Then again, she’s wealthy and can spend her money how she likes, obviously! 😊

  • It is impossible for me to understand why and how Dolce e Gabbana managed to get away with so much discrimination, slurs, et al. Other folks get cancelled for using a specific pattern at the wrong time, but these awful human beings can do as they will, celebrities (even these targeted by such discrimination and slurs) act as if nothing happened. I will never like a dress to the point it makes me lose basic principles and values.

  • i find it interesting that people call Kendall bland style wise but praise RHW (Rosie Huntington-Whitely) or even Katie Holmes. to me they all fall under the same umbrella and it’s weird that when Kendall does it it’s “unremarkable” or “not memorable” but when the other two pull the same looks it’s “so classic” “super chic” etc

  • This was interesting to me as I really don’t know much about Kendall, as I purposely avoid all things Kardashian related lol. But I actually liked her style. I know some people think it’s boring, but I think the outfits look classic and actually functional for day to day, unlike a lot of people in these articles. I tend to wear neutrals and fairly basic outfits but from nice brands/with nice fabrics. If I had the money I would 100% be buying The Row haha.

  • Consider this: you’re a high-paid model a part of an extremely famous family. You go to events constantly and also are thrown into clothes that aren’t yours or really “you.” I think Kendall’s clothes are actually really great! They are a palate cleanser to the fashion she likely is forced to wear or styled in. I think keeping things simple is a style – I say this often to my sister that comfort is a style if it is the theme of what you wear. Are her choices high fashion or ground breaking, no. But she wears those clothes often and “gets to play” in the fashion world, so, why on earth do we have a problem with simplicity? Also, in comparison to how her sister’s dress, Kendall’s wardobe is far more normal and down-to-earth which is the opposite of her family. I think it is refreshing!

  • I really love that a lot of her outfits feel honest and practical. I think people who shop at every price point can take inspiration from her looks. I am also a tall gal, not as skinny as kendall, and I totally am also on board with Khaite denim (got them on theRealReal). I also love loafers. the first look is my favorite. I love that she (well, her stylist) wasn’t afraid to mix black and brown. both the loafer and bottega bag add nice texture to the simple look. I am also happy that she seeks vintage pieces. Super important for sustainability and the environment! I agree with some of the comments, that it would have been nice to see her in some more brands aside from the row, khaite, bottega, gucci sunglasses. Even though all of those brands/designers are great.

  • I think sometimes is okay to keep it simple, she looks really good on that clothes, she looks also classy, so what’s the problem? Why do we always want to see extravagance ? this is an everyday look week, and I like that she’s being truthful, I appreciate it, and again the looks are actually pretty, I’m a little tired of the “not exciting” narrative, it’s getting lame, we’re always criticizing celebrities and stuff, when a lot of the critiques don’t even dress well

  • I respect that she loves a good fit more then being extra. I said this before & I say it again (& specialy people working in fashion) 1= wear what makes you feel like you 2= in fashion, shoots, runway etc etc they put you (deppending on brand) in fun too goofy a.f. pieces So when your on your own life its refreshing to wear good fitted pieces ✌🏻🌸

  • Whatever people say about Kendall, she really has her OWN style and that is something i really admire. Every piece she wears feels exactly right, she knows her colors and what she likes. Youll never see her in some crazy nike/balenciaga shoes for example, she knows her style and I dont think its boring at all. Boring to me, is being on trend every single day and not having a unique taste or voice. I think people judge her a lot for the family she is part of, but its quite evident she really is not the same same as her sisters.

  • I love mixing brown and black and navy and black. I don’t get these arbitrary “rules” around colours. A deep brown shoe can soften a stiff black pant. I’m all for black on black on black but sometimes you just want a bit of softness. Plus, Kendall is very tall and slim. She doesn’t have to worry so much about breaking the line of her leg whereas if you don’t have mile long legs, that might be more of an issue. I understand you love fashion so you’re looking for something really creative and interesting. Not mad about that, that’s why I’m subscribed to your website. But I gotta say, I love this. She appreciates good quality materials and construction, clearly. I think a lot of people who work in fashion prefer more understated wardrobes themselves. Most of the iconic ones I can think of off the top of my head all had/have a uniform. But even most of us lay people who don’t work in fashion but love fashion ….. we’re not putting on outrageous outfits every day. This may be “meh” on the interest level, but it’s real. We see her in these outfits all the time. She really does dress like this. Most of the ones we see on these articles ….. totally not believable. Actually, mentally scanning the ones I’ve seen …. Not a lot of people who are into fashion or style really wear anything over the top in their day to day life. Everyone kinda adopts a uniform. I’d love to see them do Iris Apfel. That woman’s wardrobe is pure glorious confection!! Also, I get the impression that Kendall would really prefer it if no one knew who she was.

  • Other than the Dolce, there was nothing “wrong” with what she wore, but I’m just confused why so many people who dress simply get called fashion icons. Basics are fine—a lot of us where them most of the time—but they can also lack personality, which IMHO is a prerequisite for being a fashion icon. I’d love to see your thoughts on Tessa Thompson’s 7 Days 7 Looks!

  • tbh I really do feel so much more secure being out in the world if I’m wearing sunglasses even tho I’m definitely not being followed by paparazzi 😂 difference is these days I’m usually wearing some ridiculous big clear framed sunglasses with silver glitter panels on the temple pieces that I bought at a truck stop because they actually fit comfortably over my regular glasses 🫢

  • This is not addressing Luke the article was great this is just overall address in the why do you guys have a problem with someone being simple and basic she’s basically doing what the article asked showing everyday items that she wears often she does not have to be going around in ball gowns bffr. So what if she has millions that she could spend she spends her millions on clothes that she likes them runs that she likes and she wears them often and if their basic so let them be.

  • About your comment: she is not like the other girls, she doesn t walk that many shows…well actually: SHE DIDN T WALK A SINGLE SHOW THIS FASHION WEEK 😂😂😂 and it was wonderful to have the fashion be the focal point of the FASHION WEEK, not the Nepo babies 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 finally proper models…and they were STUN-NING…. I loved it. It changed the whole vibe. And for the better.

  • I think Kendall is the most ‘normal’ in the Jenner/Kardashian Dianic Wicca. She doesn’t seem to be a full Wiccan. I mean she hasn’t even caused the break down of a man, ex bf, so when the girls get together with Great Goddess Kris in charge, they prepare their Shakespearean potion of “Fillet of a fenny snake, In the cauldron boil and bake; Eye of newt and toe of frog, Wool of bat and tongue of dog, Adder’s fork and blind-worm’s sting, Lizard’s leg and owlet’s wing, For a charm of powerful trouble, Like a hell-broth boil and bubble” in their huge caldron to ensure success and to humble often to the point of breaking their current man, Kendall just goes for success.

  • Kendall starts out with a “running errands” outfit…. What errands is she running? You have a assistant(s), driver, chef, house keeper(s), gardeners, maintenance staff, hair and makeup and a stylist. So I’m supposed to believe she’s running to Shop Rite on Monday for oat milk and her Zyrtec prescription….😑

  • Just finished. Honestly this is my wardrobe if I had the means to buy such expensive product. Much respect. It was very authentic to her. I a minimalist kinda guy so it’s whatever. Not worth the time and effort on vogue italia’s part. They could have just done a mini docu with Kendall chatting with The Row and Bettega designers about the craftsmanship. That would be more informative.

  • i can’t throw any shade. i’m very into minimalistic and elegant looks and she definitely showed it here. sure i can say it was basic but for me a lot of people can’t pull of simple and minimalistic. also, i feel like a lot of you are throwing unnecessary and FORCED shade on her cause you know, she’s a mean girl form a kardashian/jenner clan that doesn’t do 30 shows a season and the fact that you’re perusal somebody who really knows what he’s talking about. because of that, you’re just gonna nod with your head with whatever he says because you know, if you don’t agree with him, it automatically means that you’re not stylish so you’re afraid of being judged. correct me if i’m wrong, but that’s the vibe i got from this comment section. i believe she showed us what, realistically speaking, you can wear all the time instead of other models that throw some crazy shit on and wear it once and never again.

  • I’m so tired of yall calling young women basic for mf everyday wear. As if most of you clowns aren’t basic af. I dont even care for kendall or most of the women featured on these WIWIAW articles. But they aren’t showing red carpet looks. The literal point is to show what they actually wear. Young men can wear whatever tf they want and yall let them live. All of these looks are just fine, very cute and show her personality. She knows what works for her and isn’t trying to impress anyone out of fear of being judged by snobs. Some of you could learn from that.

  • Your point about Wangler Jeans is spot on. I also came to the conclusion that skinny jeans don’t work for my body type plus they are uncomfortable af! I thrifted a pair of men’s wanglers then promptly gave all my skinny jeans to my sister. It’s the Wanglers for me, they just do! They are good quality jean made to last. I’m shook!

  • I really like her style.. but why does she say that she can’t find long pants that fit her.. Her sister owns a jeans company working on all sizes of pants.. even they promote brand for this reason that everyone could afford them no matter how tall-short, tin-overweight they are.. so l don’t understand why she mentions her height like she is 185+…🤷🏻‍♀️

  • i’m glad she was true to herself and her personal style. that being said, snorefest! giving us nothing…. when you watch like Michelle Zauner’s week of fits she’s telling stories about her clothes and life and promoting designers and showing very unique and cool personal style. even like emma chamberlain… they LOVE the clothes, they love talking about it. kendalls looks are not very diverse, she wears like four designers, and doesn’t really tell us anything personal about it ie no connection to the clothes. just overall very bland but i guess that’s her brand so there you go 🙂

  • I get that this is your way of being a bit sassy and funny, but I find the energy in your articles really energy-sucking. It is always very negativ. It is your own interpretation of style, not a “rule”. I find the word “fashion critic” a bit critical in itself, and out of time. Sometimes I stumble upon your articles, and I always end up regretting it. I just don’t see what you get out of hating, and yes I think it is hateful in a way.

  • imagine wasting your time and energy bashing rich people just bec you’re poor or not rich enough like them. I’m poor and i live in a third world country and i am very much aware of the exploitation and injustices surrounding the social classes but I’m not wasting my time hating and bashing celebrities just because i can. That’s pretty embarrassing considering that most of yall here are adults and should know better than be keyboard warriors. ya’lls asses are so loud in the comments and its prob one of the reasons why you not might not get anywhere that much far in life. i try to look at the rich world as my inspiration to work hard and work smart and get my introverted ass out there instead of complaining on pointless things. A model isn’t fashionable enough? Their fashion preference is not your personal taste then you’ll bash them for it? You want them to spend more on fashion for the sake of fashion and then complain when celebrities spend too much? Damn society is the real problem here.

  • Is it just me or do i think that Kendall really studied Camille Row’s 7 day 7 look article and tried to emulate her quirky awkwardness especially at the end of every outfit….. Kendall really comes across as a pick me girl who makes her assistants find celebrity personalities online who she can “emulate” and appear to be quirky and loveable

  • I can’t wait for the majority to think it is cringe to say something is “vintage”. Yes reusing clothes is good and fast fashion is awful but we all know that the “vintage” that celebrities have acces to is not what others have access to. As is vintage is being co-opted by fashion, pricing people that actually benefit from thrift shopping financially out of being able to do so. Ideally “vintage” should be brand agnostic. If it is a good vintage piece it should be because it has held the test of time and looks good on its own merit, not because it was a trendy brand.

  • it’s just nuts how so many of the “stars” in this series have access to literally all of the designers they can think of and more, yet they still dress so boring and basic. like girlie you have millions in your pocket and you choose to wear a boring ass hoodie? like we’re not expecting something weird but at least something creative.

  • How do you feel about them Luke . Do you respect on any level them wanting to break in to fashion and what they’ve done, also I don’t feel like they had any obligation to try to be fashionistas, which makes their effort more impressive for me. Or do you think it’s inevitable, anyways, just wondering your general opinion on Karjenners and fashion. Also, thank you so much for this article, everyone’s talking about them being dead and I just like that you’re a simple, honest boutique of Kendall without slamming the shit out of their whole family or her etc. I love your concert I’m a huge fan

  • What gets me so jelly about these is that all of the money that isn’t going into the “flashy” aspects is going into the absolute perfect fit, texture and silhouette instead. We might “think” we can recreate kendall’s white tee and jean look but it probably won’t ever look as good. This is why celebs look so amazing in basics — because the quality of them is way beyond what most of us could ever afford AND they get them tailored and dry cleaned on top of that. Most of us could only dream of wearing things that kendall does on a daily basis and also be able to call them “casual.” 😩

  • I would love to see the budget D&G put together for their comeback- I remember when they started showing up again, here & there & then boom they were everywhere! The deal with the KarJenners, the deal the MGK…their last big fashion show. Even if they weren’t so fkn awful, I don’t get it – the majority of their clothes are UGLY!! I Hope they’re going broke paying ppl to wear their clothes and tbh, if they’re willing ignore who D&G really are, ppl deserve to wear their ugly clothes. 🤷🏼‍♀️

  • Like I feel like everything she wore was a wardrobe basic, it’s giving me a strong case of the capsule wardrobe of boredom vibe, and like that’s fine, I think she’s happy with her style, but can the world stop pretending she’s got interesting style 😂 like lets be fair- a lot of that wouldn’t hold up to the skinny or fashion question

  • Luke I’m in bed sick today and should be getting some rest. But I just needed to see what possessed Kendall to do this as well as what possessed you to react. I’m sure there’s plenty of shade to come and maybe a little tea if Miss Jenner can muster up anything intriguing. Let’s see. But really I should be resting. What we’ll all do foe some shade 😒

  • I was so thrown off by the one photo at 6:20 like why are her hands so much whiter than the rest of her lol. Then i started looking at her hands and now im like does she hand model or does the self tanning not stay on her hands well? Cuz they seem rpetty different to me than the rest of her skin tone. Either that or she does her makeup from like face to neck so dark the rest of her is actually pretty pale.

  • Actually much of what Kendall is shown wearing is what I wear (minus all of the recognizable cachet-filled famous names of course). Yes, I have also slept in jeans much to the consternation of everyone who learns that piece of data about me. However, all of my jeans are thrifted thus quite comfy. While I do have a few skinny jeans in my closet, most of my “modern” jeans have been broken in by kind strangers who then donated said item. I buy average length (even though I am SO SO short) jeans which somehow magically do not drag on the floor yet provide extra room even in skinny jean format.

  • I’m a Lee jeans girlie through and through! They may not give the classic Levi’s silhouette but I can usually get vintage pairs for less than $50 CAD from my fave thrift shop, Community in Vancouver. Levi’s and even Wranglers sit funny on my waist while the cinching from Lee really highlights it – definitely recommend Lee brand if you see it second hand! I also have a unique Lee denim jacket that has a round collar instead of the classic triangle. Love the website!!!!!

  • I love the Row. It’s sharp and to the point. It is the ultimate luxury. Why? Because it will be worn forever, classic shapes, colors, exquisite fabrics – a Designer brand that us everyday folks can save up for and purchase and know it is not falling apart any time soon. Luke, really, how many times do you walk to the bodega and see perfection?
