I had a driver throw a wrench at my car because I didn’t turn left fast enough. I got it on dash cam, and gave his license plate to the police. He got slapped with property damage and road rage. He had to pay us $637 for the damage, but I requested to the prosecutor he take anger management courses in order for him to remove the points from his license. Not certain he did that, but I used the check for new tires. The dent is still there lol
First he cuts the guy off, then brake checks him and decided to claim “self defense” good luck holding that story up in court. Can’t prove it was self defense because he pulls out his gun before anything happens and then aims to the side waiting for the car to pass him before firing. And to make it better he has a dash cam he knows is recording him, classic idiot.
I used to get crazy road rage. Then there was a story of something like this happening in our neighborhood and the guy who was raging got shot and had his two kids in the car. Ever since then, I realized, it’s never worth it. Never worth being the tough guy. Just say sorry (right or wrong) and drive away. Ain’t worth getting shot over especially with my kids in the car.
Acted in self-defense yet he was the one who whipped out the firearm first before the other driver pulled up afterwards, but all the driver had in his hand was a water bottle to chuck at his vehicle. You can clearly tell he has no experience handling a firearm whatsoever judging by his impetuous aim. A hot-headed guy like him should learn to not act in an impulsive manner.
What is scary to me is it looks like he knew what he was doing & that he possibly has that on him at all times. That sure didn’t look like self defense to me. It’s sicking of what could of been serious consequences. Adults, children, animals etc & people just don’t care. A water bottle or in his opinion something else, isn’t worth it! Wish their was more love & understanding than violence & hate!
He instigated the entire situation and then fired out of moving car on a highway??? He deserves the maximum sentence for not only attempted manslaughter but every other felony and misdemeanor he committed while attempting to murder an unarmed individual and risking the lives of all others on the freeway.
The real question is, how does this guy conduct himself in his day to day life, in which A: he genuinely believed a total stranger should die for tailgating him, or B: he genuinely believed that this was an enemy of some kind who was trying to kill him. Because who the hell carries a gun around with them and fires it in THEIR car, windows down and just closes their eyes and freaks out as they keep firing.
I’m a 20+ years retired veteran and gun owner for many years and pro 2way. After perusal this article he clearly violated the trust of American people and fellow drivers there is no way he should own any type of firearms and his actions should cost him his freedom. When it comes to firearms you take ownership of every single round shot through your weapon and his negligence reflects his awareness for other people safety.
I hope this serves as a lesson to those quick to road rage. Acting like that will get you killed. Doesn’t matter who was right when your daughter is crying over your grave because you had to make sure you got the upper hand on the situation. This life isn’t a article game. You will not respawn. My mom lost a childhood friend to a stray bullet when they were kids in the second floor of an apartment. Now what if he crossed fired someone else’s child in a different car? You’re using your weapon with intent to kill whether it’s truly your intent to or not. You did all that and let’s say you were in the right, you have to pay for the damages to your car, their car, and whoever else you accidentally hit. This was extremely dangerous to the people around you, extremely reckless, and very childish to act upon your anger on the road after being at fault.
He should immediately get arrested and never have a concealed carry never again in his life. this guy was super Reckless he could off shot an innocent driver in the highway and cause a major accident. Hoping he is not a licensed concealed carry holder if he is he should be revoked go to jail and never have a firearm never again.
I have a friend who was shot driving home from work on 294 in Chicago in a similar scenario. Scary as hell. My friend took a bullet through his car door that shattered his femur. He was on the phone with his wife when it happened who’s luckily a nurse. When you see lunatics on the road always avoid and de-escalate. Stuff like this could easily turn into a multi car pileup.
This dude was looking for any reason to use his firearm! There was absolutely no reason to use it even if the other driver was instigating. But this guy instigated the confrontation. You can’t say that you’re gonna tear someone’s arms off and beat them to death with them. And then when you’re losing the fight pull out a gun and claim self defense
This guy should’ve been charged with assault with a deadly weapon, attempted murder and unsafe discharge of a handgun. He might’ve killed that person and others who were in the area. There was absolutely NO provocation for deadly force! He should’ve waived the other driver apologizing for cutting him off. This man must never EVER be allowed near a weapon again. I only pray that no one was seriously injured.
This is definitely not his first time doing something like that. He did not in a split second identify if that person was going to discharge a weapon. He legit tried to brazonly murder that person after cutting him off, and break checking him. Also putting so many lives in complete danger, potentially shooting and killing bystanders.
If there is not more to the story that we don’t know, this guy should be put in an asylum and get checked because this seems like a severe case of paranoia and hallucinations or something like that. I mean notice he was scared while shooting and he broke his own car’s glass. Seems to me he was scared/nervous and on edge for some reason. These people need to be mentally checked before being put in prison for rehabilitation so the same accident wouldn’t happen again.
This dude should be severely punished for this. With that said, the other car shouldn’t have thrown anything at him at all regardless if it being water. All drivers should understand that getting to and from is a job. Maintaining a cool head is hard but keeping it inside the car helps to keep the situation from escalating.
