Are Jobkeeper And Single Parent Payments Available?

Once a child turns 8, you are no longer eligible for parenting payment single and must transition to jobseeker if eligible. Both jobseeker and parenting payments cannot be received at the same time regardless of the child’s age. The amount of JobSeeker Payment depends on factors such as having a partner, having children, age, and income. Eligible employees can only claim JobKeeper payment if they pay $1,500 per fortnight before tax to each eligible employee.

Patients with one or more children may receive money from the government through the Family Tax Benefit (FTB). Single parents with a child under 14 currently on Jobseeker allowance will be automatically moved to Parenting Payment Single on September 20th. To receive Parenting Payment, you must meet the income and assets tests. The amount you get depends on your income, assets, and total income. If you report employment income and your total income is over the cut-off point, your Parenting Payment reduces to $0. This is called a nil rate.

The JobSeeker Payment is for people between 22 and 66 years old who are looking for work or who can’t work or study for a short time. The SPP payment will increase for eligible parents, increasing the maximum basic rate of payment from $745.20 per fortnight on JobSeeker Payment to $922.10 per fortnight. The Parenting Payment currently expires when the youngest child of a single parent turns eight, with the parent moving on to jobseeker.

  • Great webinar. Q – If you’re a company director and pay yourself a wage through profits and/or a trust but dont employ anyone on the books as such (technically not a sole trader). The application process for Jobkeper in the ATO busines portal, do I put 1 or 0 employees for the Q on “number of eligible employees” as I have been told I need to be paying myself $1308 (net) a f/night etc. Also am I enrolling as a soletrader? Just a bit confused. Thanks, EC.
