  • “What does that say about therapy?” I’m a self-love coach but I never ask people to write down 10 things they like about themselves. That is quite likely to leave people feel inadequate about their self-love and not very likely to lead to a breakthrough. This kind of approach doesn’t work for most people. I think it’s great that your song is honest about that. There are other ways to help people become warmer and kinder with themselves, and less judgmental. I wish you well on your journey and hope you find the kind of love for yourself that feels truly awesome, because it is completely attuned to who YOU are. Self-love is very personal, there is no universal formula for it.

  • Once I heard this song I started to cry. I can’t love myself deep down, especially with my battle with Bipolar Disorder. Therapy only works to an extent, but it’s always with me. Trying to list reasons why I love myself seem impossible to write. I try to over come this by doing more for family and friends, but when I am alone I feel like I don’t matter. It’s hard to explain in words even here. But know that your song touched my heart. Thank you for putting into words how you and many others feel.

  • Beautiful voice 💕 I use to feel this way about myself, always critical, always chasing that “self-love movement” in myself, and it was always empty…until I realized that through God and only God, do we find love for exactly who we are and who he made us to be. Not in ourselves, God is the only one who created us + is the only one who can satisfy our hearts 🫶🏽♥️

  • Avery is so amazing….I wish the woman of this world would all vanish and we all could have an avery… all the cheaters and liars and mean people.. they are ruining it for the ones of us who love everyone.. to have a heart like I do.. and be alone…in a motel for three weeks cause my narcissistic ex wife cheated for 4 yrs straight and after being married and having two kids has ghosted me.. haven’t heard my kids voice since… it’s just sad.. I’ve never hurt anyone. Never would… so why am I here…. alone…

  • this song always reminds me of my wife. She’s incredibly beautiful inside and out, but she has a hard time seeing it, especially when we first started dating. Her self-confidence his grown immensely in the last few years, but she still has to be reminded that she’s wonderful or else she falls in the trap of thinking she’s nothing.

  • Great article Avery, but I think you really need to find a guy who’s not a narcissistic critic who will love you more so you’ll never be lovesick again, we don’t want you to have to hide behind your biggest t shirt again, I don’t know what made you think the last guy was who you needed but we have just the guy…have a good day!

  • Wow, I love this song cuz it is so relatable for all of us. Everyone tells us to love ourselves and yet, it never seems to work. I love that you were honest about that! To be honest, we all don’t feel good about ourselves because we all do wrong things or make mistakes. However, there is someone who loves us despite all of those mistakes. God loves us so much that He wants us to be His children, even though we’ve messed up so many times. All we have to do is repent and believe that God loved us so much that He sent His Son to die on a cross to save us from our sins and then rise from the dead 3 days later. When you accept Jesus as your Savior, you finally do feel loved because the God of all the universe loves you so much! Anyway, I just wanted to share this with you all because I know the feeling of being unloved and I want you all to know the love that God has given to us. Definitely read the gospel of John if you are interested in knowing more about God’s amazing love! I love you guys! John 3:16–“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.” 1 John 4:10–“In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.”

  • Wow, only discovered you tonight and it’s unbelievable because all your songs in order tell the story of my life. Can’t believe I found someone who know what’s it’s like, not just an element of it but every bit. Your songs are so so relatable and meaningful. Thank you for putting your horrific experience out there like this because it has certainly helped me and I’m sure it has many others who think they are the issue. ❤ You are one amazing lady to be able to do this. Xx❤️❤️
