NC is working on various compensation strategies for the early childhood workforce, including a salary scale as guidance. The crisis faced by early educators is significant, and the consequences of inaction are clear: either increase compensation or create a model for ECE providers to determine fair salaries. In 2019, national median wages for early educators ranged from $11.65 per hour to $14.67 per hour. Poverty rates are an average of 7.7 times higher than teachers in the K-8.
Insufficient wages and unequal pay create challenges in attracting and retaining high-quality early educators, critical for young children’s success in early care. A locally-implemented salary scale for early childhood education teachers is an important tool to guide programs in determining fair salaries. Pay in early childhood education for child care professionals is seriously lagging despite tremendous responsibilities and clear return on investment.
Recent analyses of relative teacher compensation provide detailed analysis of trends in the relative weekly pay of teachers. Pre-K teachers earn 40% less than kindergarten teachers, even though the demands of the job and education and training are similar. Salaries for early childhood educators are often lower compared to other professions requiring similar levels of education and responsibility.
In one school district, state preschool teachers earn $32,122 less, or nearly a 50 disparity in salary for similar educational qualifications. To standardize reporting on teacher professional development programs, the In-Service Teacher Training Survey Instrument is proposed.

📹 Dad’s fake job interview to see daughter’s reaction 😳 that’s not true😂 you can’t lie to them.
Thanks for Watching guys please SUBSCRIBE for more videos.
The beauty of this is that clearly Abby felt safe and confident enough to speak up allegedly against her father’s stories of untruths. That means that she feels safe enough to know her truth, speak her feelings, and be her authentic self. To the Parents: looks like you are doing a great job raising your precious daughter.
Abby is not your “yes” girl! LOL! I’m dying! She is not playing around with these lies! Her outrage is palpable! Her body language, words and facial expressions all indicate she was raised with a solid moral compass! Abby, I hope you never lose your moxie or your ethics! The world loves you & needs people like you! Keep growing!
I love the looks on Abby’s face when she is hearing the lies! She is adorable! And finally when it got to be too much, she HAD TO say something!! Looks like she and her Dad have a good, fun relationship, and the lies were definitely done with a sense of humor. They started small, then got to be whoppers.
The way she walked off when he said he handled all the chores before his wife wakes up 😂 She is an icon. She must be protected. Props to dad, too, for being loving enough that she knows she can speak her mind without being punished. (As a member of the Bad Dads club, my dad could’ve used this example!)
Abby said ‘find someone else to do it, ‘ cause I’m not with the lies and shenanigans’. I can already tell she will be a strong woman with integrity, values, honest and will expect the same in return. If she getting her dad in check at this age, she is going to be a firecracker as she gets older and I LOVE IT!! Great job, mom and dad!!
This little girl is an absolute gem, adorably honest and expressive. If at least half the people on Earth right now would stand against lies like this and for truth day by waking day, we’d be in a far better state as a human race, which would inadvertently positively affect just about everything on this planet. This example just goes to show how important good moral character is for people of ALL walks of life…young and old.
The fact that she understands those are lies, and is openly against it, speaks values about her nature and the level of understanding she has at such a young age. My cousins who are almost adults, support their parent’s every lie without batting an eye. And this little girl who is barely half their age has shown that age is just a number. She’s the bigger person than they’ll ever be.
That head jolt at the start when the first lie was spilled….it’s absolutely wonderful. You never have to teach a child to tell the truth, you just teach them and set the example not to lie. Truth is innate, and the absolute refusal and intolerance for listening to anymore of those lies is what I loved most about your daughters character here. “CUT!!” 😂….too wonderful.
I have almost never wanted kids, but from time to time I come across a precious kid such as this one who for a moment makes me feel like wanting to be a dad. I know all kids are precious, but a few really do touch your soul. This kid is awesome, and she is going places. Her parents are doing a great job parenting her. If every kid had great parenting, we would live in a Utopia
This article brought a big smile to my face from the very beginning! It’s overflowing with positivity, joy, and pure happiness. The energy is contagious, and I couldn’t help but smile throughout the entire article. It’s incredible how something as simple as a article can brighten someone’s day and uplift their spirits. Thank you for sharing this beautiful source of smiles and reminding us all to find joy in the little things. Keep spreading those smiles and making the world a happier place
Oh, the brutal honesty of sweet little babes! This is so precious! Oh my sides hurt.. you could tell she was getting a little bit more aggravated and wondering what the heck was going on.. She was teetering on you’re not eating sugar, but then lost it at your baseball career.. what a cutie!!! good job, Dad!! 😂😂❤❤
lol…This is so hilarious! I can relate 1,000% to this article. Not only do I STILL do this with kids, I do the same with employers and adults, as well– esp. if have a half decent relationship with the former, (disclaimer: make sure you actually do more than what’s required while on the job!). Most of them don’t even react to my impromptus any longer. They simply stare or gaze at me until I’m finished with my schtick. lol…Ironically, this is the cat I actually wouldn’t mind in the classroom teaching the kids. Good stuff. Thanks for the upload.
This is so cute. She’s willing to help her dad out, here. (In the beginning.) But, once the “lies” start, she’s having none of it ! Ha Ha ! Re-watching this to see her facial reactions again is comedy gold. (And seeing her folding her arms.) Ha ! And her reaction at 1:20 ! How did this guy keep a straight face? I’m laughing out loud perusal her, and I’m surprised he didn’t bust up laughing during the recording of this.
So glad to of seen this, for we have a 4 year old granddaughter who keeps Papa in check 😂. So I can relate, so glad too of came across this article will be shared with my husband. Tell your daughter that someone sent their love( Aloha ) from Honolulu, Hawaii. Please, give yourself a hi-5 for raising a fine child.
