A child who developed a strong dislike of noodle soup after consuming it during a flu outbreak is an example of a food-related behavior. This behavior can be classified into three types: habit, social interaction, and emotional.
A child’s reaction to noodle soup is a conditioned taste aversion, which is a psychological reaction where an individual associates a certain taste or smell with unpleasantness. Nutrition in early life is crucial for influencing later health, and food preferences are formed in infancy. Despite various factors contributing to children’s low consumption and dislike of vegetables, the early years are a key period in development to encourage healthy eating habits.
The child’s strong dislike of noodle soup after consuming it during the flu outbreak is an example of a negative association, a type of conditioning. This behavior can lead to a conditioned taste aversion or craving, as the child may associate the taste or smell of noodle soup with unpleasant experiences.
In summary, a child’s strong dislike of noodle soup during a flu outbreak is an example of a food-related behavior that can be categorized into habit, social interaction, and emotional. The child’s reaction to noodle soup is a significant aspect of their food-related behavior, as they may associate the taste or smell of the soup with unpleasant experiences.

Which term refers to a nutrient needed by the body that must be supplied by foods?
Essential nutrients are essential for body function and growth, as they cannot be synthesized by the body and must be supplied from food. What is it called when the body does not get the right amount of nutrients?
Malnutrition is a severe condition resulting from an inadequate diet that lacks the requisite nutrients. Malnutrition may manifest as undernutrition, characterized by insufficient intake, or overnutrition, defined as excessive intake. The most common indications of malnutrition are undernutrition in adults and children, and obesity.
Why will my child only eat plain pasta?
The appeal of plain pasta for children can be attributed to its predictable nature, lack of visual challenge, and the necessity of carbohydrates for human metabolism, as humans have evolved to fuel their bodies with carbohydrates. This is a reassuring aspect of the meal, as it may not be appealing to adults.
How does poor nutrition affect a child’s development?
Poor eating habits in children can lead to underweight or overweight status, weaker immune systems, and increased risk of long-term health problems such as bone thinning, cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes, breathing problems, liver problems, hip development issues, gallstones, early puberty, and polycystic ovary syndrome. These children may also have a family history of type 2 diabetes, which is linked to being overweight, physically inactive, and having a family history of type 2 diabetes.
Additionally, they may experience breathing problems, liver problems, hip development issues, gallstones, early puberty, and polycystic ovary syndrome, which can cause issues with periods and other health problems.
What are the 2 nutrients vegans could be deficient in?
A vegan diet provides essential nutrients like calcium, iron, vitamin B12, iodine, and selenium, which are crucial for a healthy body. However, proper planning is essential to avoid missing out on essential nutrients. Vegans who are pregnant or breastfeeding should ensure they receive enough vitamins and minerals for their child’s health development. Why is noodles unhealthy for kids?
Instant noodles are not nutritious and have high calorie content, which can be detrimental to young children’s development. They are made with starch, which only provides carbs and fats, and are not rich in protein and vitamins. The deep-fried nature of instant noodles can lead to fat accumulation, causing weight gain and obesity in children. The oil used to preserve the noodles is not healthy, as it can cause liver damage in young children.
Propylene Glycol, a common ingredient in instant noodles, is used to maintain moisture but can also cause damage to the heart and kidneys. Consuming instant noodles regularly can increase the risk of disease. Shrimp noodles are often used to create a delicious taste, but it can also cause brain damage.
Sodium salt stored for long periods in noodles is not good, as it can change and damage organs. The body absorbs too much salt, which can damage organs. Additionally, shrimp noodles contain harmful chemicals, such as plasticizers and dioxins, which can increase the risk of cancer. Despite boiling noodles at high heat, these chemicals remain unaffected. Therefore, it is essential to avoid using instant noodles in the main menu for various reasons.
Can a 10 year old be a vegetarian?
A vegetarian diet can be a healthy choice for kids, provided it is well-planned and includes a variety of foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds. However, be cautious of processed foods, which are often low in nutrients and high in fat, calories, and salt. If you have any questions or concerns about vegetarian diets, consult with a family doctor, pediatrician, or registered dietitian.
What is child nutrition?
Nutrition for kids is similar to adult nutrition, requiring the same nutrients like vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, protein, and fat. Children need different amounts of specific nutrients at different ages. The best eating pattern for a child’s growth and development depends on their age, activity level, and other characteristics. Nutrient-dense foods, free from sugar, saturated fat, or salt, are the best option for kids, as they provide the necessary nutrients while limiting overall calories.
Why do kids like noodles so much?
Color can also be a sign of preference in children, with white foods like rice, pasta, and bread being perceived as “safe”. Yellow foods, like processed cheeses, are believed to bring happiness. To expand a picky palate, it is recommended to start young and expose children to bitter vegetables, fish, and spicy foods, which most toddlers would refuse. However, for those who have experienced babyhood as a memory, there is hope. Exposure to these foods can help raise an adventurous eater.
Which nutrient commonly deficient in a vegan diet may be added to soy milk?
Vitamin B12 supplementation is crucial for people on plant-based diets, with processed foods fortified with B12 being the only reliable sources. Other sources include fermented soy products, shiitake mushrooms, algae, and unfortified nutritional yeast. Nori, a dried seaweed, provides active B12. Low B12 intake can negatively impact mood, memory, energy, and nerve function, and can lead to irreversible neurocognitive dysfunction. Vitamin B12 is the necessary co-factor for only two enzymatic reactions in human physiology, but insufficiency can lead to a wide range of symptoms.
The first enzyme, methionine synthase, is crucial in the methylation cycle, and insufficient B12 in the methylcobalamin form results in elevated homocysteine and impaired methylation-dependent processes.
Do vegans lack vitamin D?
Dietary vitamin D is predominantly found in animal-based foods, including fatty fish, cod liver oil, egg yolks, cheese, and beef liver. A diet that is plant-based or vegan is more likely to be deficient in vitamin D, given that this vitamin is naturally occurring.

The Witcher story and here now the film is about the cycle of growing up through life, that in life you can only rely on yourself, accepting yourself and your emotions but not acting on them but continuing on with what is best for you. For example, Yennifer and Tissaia are one person, their dialogue is actually an internal monologue of their higher self with their lower self.
first season is excellent. the episodes are based on disjointed short stories that build the Witcher world. it time jumps and is very difficult to follow, but well worth it. it gets better the more times you watch it. after that, the writers and show runners get a little full of themselves and take the show off a woke cliff. but the first season is brilliant.
So THIS is how the Witcher got hijacked. perusal it and then the animation kinda showed me why older fans weren’t happy about the plot not focusing more on the Witcher/s to tell female empowering stories and this is an entertaining story none the less, this would have been a nice stand alone and had no business hijacking The Witcher series.
Moral of the story……. (( In a context that men in highschool can understand and start a new life from ))… Treat every woman with respect, dignity, and kindness. Even the “not hots”…. Because you never know who will become a nothing in 10 years after highschool, and who ends up being a 10 +…… If you follow my advice, you could get lucky and get one of them, because they’ll remember who treated them nicely back then……
Moral of story: is that we got to appreciate today’s medical corrective surgery prowess. Instead of all these bullshit dramas where it will be unreal forever like this dumb movie, people with a skewed jawline could just opt for a jaw surgery or a simpler orthodontist treatments. No need to cut your womb or anything dumb like that, just go to Korea. Cheers.
Jesus is coming back. Are you born again? If not, secure your eternity today. You do not have to go to hell. Jesus paid the price for all your sins. If you want to be born again Say the following prayer but you also have to believe it: Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins that you was buried and rose from the dead the third day. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior.
I think the whole problem is we focus on the name of the food rather than the quality of the food. A farm chicken which was fed organic corn, oats, grass, worms and gravel from the ground is much healthier than soy beans from mutated seeds sprayed with chemical fertilizer and poisonous pesticides. But the doctor only tells you “hey you need to cut down on your meat consumption”. And even modern day gurus of veganism foolishly tell you “meat is bad for you”. Medicine isn’t the public’s guide, but the advertiser’s right hand. We need to think essentially and not superficially.

Thank you for your article. Years ago in the 1950 and 60’s when I was 9 years old through my teen s, my grandmother and great aunt warned me about most of the foods you have mentioned. They also never used food additives and extra preservatives. My meals were home cooked. To this day, in my mid seventies I bring my breakfast and lunch to work. I am very particular where I dine out. Again thank you for your very informative article.
Well, hell. This explains some of my health problems and tells me I definitely need to reconsider, again, what I eat every day. Too much of what I eat on a regular basis is on your list. I quit booze by the time I entered my 30’s 45 years ago, but now drink a lot of soft drinks and fruit juice. It looks like that will have to change too. I’ve had Congestive Heart Disease since 2002 and Type 2 Diabetes since 2010. In 2013 my heart Dr told me he did not expect me to see 2018. So what he was telling me was that he did not expect me to live 5 more years. I cut back on most of the stuff he said was killing me but from what you just told me, I still need to change even more eating habits.
Reminds me of a joke that goes like this – A man went to his MD for his yearly check-up. When it was over the doctor told him everything looked great. This made the man happy and then he thought of something. He asked the doctor this, ” I’m glad to be doing good, but do you have any advice for me to stay healthy?” The MD replied, ” Yeah, just one thing – if it tastes good, spit it out!”

Sashimi, raw fish in Japan is always eaten with a green Shiso leaf. It’s kind of like a fresh mint leaf. It’s an anti parasitic. Wasabi is used in sushi because it’s an anti parasitic. That is why those two items are very important when eating raw fish. You have probably eaten, ingested millions of parasites and did not know it. Cooked meats just means cooked parasites.
At 75 I finally realized that my eating habits had to change! I consulted Menla specialist, don’t know how it works but I take supplements for the first time in my life. The man told me what my body needed to function 9 months later I have improved all the potential risks the food intake was having. Sugar was first, bread and butter, pasta, meats. Little bio to let you know how helpful the article was to explain what I have been told, but you made it so simplistic and concise. Thank you I’ve subscribed, look forward to notifications.
Informative & hilarious to watch your article – cleverly put together! When I was a child, maybe 7 to 10 years old, growing up in Mexico, my family and I would go to our nearest port and find muscles when the tide went down. I remember the adults would separate the shells open, squeeze lemon, and drops of salsa, and simply suck the animal off the shell, chew some, and be contentedly satisfied. I never did such thing on my own. Gives me the creeps just to think about about it. Thank You!!!
I remember perusal that Morgan Spurlock doc, Supersize Me.. where he only ate McDonalds for an entire month.. and he went from a normal happy positive healthy average man, n became Incredibly depressed, overweight stressed struggled to breath just walking up a couple stairs, etc. It’s pretty obvious he would sustain bad side effects, but the severe depression & unhappiness kinda surprised me!
I’ve stopped any farmed seafood and fish for years inadvertently. I developed an highly allergic reaction that rejects all of it. I can only eat wild caught which makes it difficult going out to eat. Most often servers don’t know the difference and have to get assistance. The restaurants I’ve visited (even expensive ones) serve mostly all farmed. Hence, I prepare food from home most of the time.
24:46 As someone who survived severe salmonella and had to be hospitalized for 2.5 weeks for it, I second this statement. COOK YOUR EGGS!!!!! (And meat and vegetables) And always check them before cooking to determine they haven’t spoiled. Do not eat them if there is even a chance they’ve been contaminated, or if they’ve gone bad!
Actually does not matter. The mind and spirit kills. If you are worried you will die sooner but then you will have a better chance to spot the danger. You have to be worried enough to spot the danger and relaxed enough to be able to relax and act if needed. Same with food .Any food is probably healthy and poisonous. Still I would not recommend mixing carbs and meat, eating transfats and pure sugar and avoid alochol, unless .. yeah.. sometimes and even then in moderation and not all of the types. Breathing is important. Thoughts are important. Feelings and emotions coming from thoughts are important. Generally living is not healthy because generally leads to activity and too much passivity and rest is deadly too. That is the reason there are so many attempts at life.. about 8 billion on human side. We are bombarded by niformation telling us that we should do this and that everyday despite having only 24 hours and food should be eaten but actually none of it is healthy. Sex is good but actually is dangerous and immoral. Making money causes our tax payments to go up. And the list goes on.. Red peppers are extremely healthy beacuse they clean the body and raise inner temperature. If eaten wrongly they can kill you. Bread is bad for you because it is pure sugar .. Still if you eat good bread you will be fine and even stronger and leaner and faster because your body will learn to deal with it. Also it will make you more versatile. Letting your body rest from food can do wonders for you but you still should give some water and salts.
I went on a salami bender last year, and ate 6 lbs a week for several months. I quit after my blood tests came back with elevated triglycerides and cholesterol. I still haven’t been able to overcome an addiction to red grapes, and eat 1-2 lbs per day. Sushi has always been a turn-off for me, the consistency is gross. I bought some fish at a (well-lit) grocery, and when I removed it from the (dark) fridge, observed several long thin worms rapidly retreating back into the fish. I don’t eat anything that isn’t cooked!
Hi, thx for giving us good teaching, I know what is not good/good, much appreciated, sometimes we thought that foods are healthy until I watch these information, will stop many things. My family don’t eat unhealthy, never go to restaurants or buy fast foods, we drink so much water, but through you we learn a lot, thx very much, we don’t eat rice for a long time, you tube teach us a lot.
I recently had an anaphylactic shock and was rushed to hospital. No idea why. The evening before I had eaten way more than the three Brazil nuts you mention in your article. These were bought as grown in Brazil. May be now I have found the culprit for the reaction? Thank you for the very informative article.
When I was going to high school, I use to drink a soda called ‘Cherry Phosphate’ or just ‘Cherry Soda’ My dentist told me most cola brands and sodas contain phosphates and they eat the calcium in your bones. He said in general most people don’t get enough calcium in their diet. It’s o.k. to drink phosphate sodas one to three times a week. Just don’t drink sodas everyday.
Octopus. No. They are incredibly intelligent beings. Farmed salmon makes me violently ill…any “farmed” seafood does. Of course, given all the garbage in the oceans, everything contaminated. And just think of all the sewage dumped from boats, fishing vessels and cruise lines (although they aren’t supposed to). 🤢 I don’t think there is any turning back anymore.
Oh my gosh the pasta/rice thing!!!! I lived in a humid environment for a while and the bug eggs that were I’m my pasta came to life and you could litterally hear the corner of the pantry making noise! It was the worst!!!! But all the bugs died while getting boiled and I can’t tell you how many boxes of pasta we threw out. It was so gross!
A dietician once told me that a healthy gut = a healthy body, and that most of the general ailments we experience regularly, or reasons we feel unwell or tired, and have such a large number of people with various allergies these days, etc. is because of every day things we eat that we don’t even realise are bad for our gut, or bodies in general. And I don’t mean the obvious things like too much red meat or junk food. I’m talking about some of the things shown in the article that we always thought are quite harmless, and even very healthy. It’s not always immediately apparent, but in the long run, these seemingly harmless foods we consume end up making us sick, and even decrease our life span. Hence doing the proper research about following a balanced, healthy diet is so important, as well as how much food we consume. The human body, surprisingly, requires relatively little food, daily, to function properly. We eat way more, and too large a variety of food, than our bodies actually need.
1) Process Meat 2) Casu Marzu 3) Fruit Juice 4) Fugu 5) Red Hot Chili Peppers 6) Savage Soda 7) San-Nakji octopus 8) Framed Salmon 9) Fast Food 10) Cherries Pits 11) Hot Dogs chocking especially under 14yrs of age 12) Bagels when handling knifes or even cutting Avocados 13) Nut Meg 14) Raw wild Almonds 15) Akee Fruit 16) Pasta and Rice when left at room temperature toxins created 17) Eggs everyday or not cook all the way 18) Cashew nuts raw 19 ??? 20 Brazil nuts eat in moderation
So wrong about the egg! The amount of cholesterol that’s in an egg (and that’s a lot) has nothing to do with the cholesterol in your body. It’s frustrating that people – even some doctors – don’t pay attention to the studies. The humble egg does not release its cholesterol into your body. It does not perform the “Shock and Awe” attack on our bodies that we are wrongly told. Eggs are incredibly good for you!
A lot of good information:) I do have to say tho, the farmed salmon in norway do get pellets with grinded fish in them yes, but it’s still mostly plant material in them. They also have some natural minerals like astaxantin. Its what gives flamingos their color and ocours naturaly in the wild. The industry is always working towards better solutions in everyway. There are also regulations to where farms can be placed and how much fish is allowed at each site. Not saying its perfect or anything, but I needed to write some fact on top of it.
I don’t wanna go crazy, okay? I’ve been living on most of these foods my entire life and I’m as healthy as an ox. No shade to anybody that’s found something to stay out of after perusal this article, but I’m just not sold into most of this stuff. No one in my family has ever gotten sick eating most of these foods so no. I’m not sold. Informative article though. But I’m good thanks.
The first one is an easy simple fix without limiting your intake on meat. Just eat unprocessed all natural grass-fed meat which is not only very healthy but still tastes amazing. So you can still eat bacon, hamburger and steak as much as you want as long as it’s all natural. And don’t go to meatless alternative foods because there’s nothing wrong with eating meat if you eat it from the right sources.
For the last 7 years I’ve been taking “Amygdalin” (contains Cyanide) from crushed Apricot seeds, 500 Mg two or three times a day and instead of dying my brother (83 y/o) and I have gotten rid of prostate cancer. We got rid of cancer in the first 6 months, but I keep taking Amygdalin as a health maintenance. At age 65 I don’t have any health problems; it’s said that the Amygdalin side effects are: regulates your blood pressure, gets rid of bad cholesterol and may increase your appetite, even though some people get upset stomach (not me). The only way that the cyanide molecule contained in Amygdalin can be opened (activated) is by a cancerous cell which will die at that moment otherwise it (cyanide) goes through your system as water does. I even challenged my doctor with this info when he tried to show me in “Web Med” in his office that I was taking poison; I told him that it was “misinformation” since my brother & I were very much alive, that false info was to scare people so that they increase the profits from the real poison which is chemo.
Thanks for the info! Most of that list we don’t use at all, but about nuts it’s very useful information, especially Brazil nuts. Most safe foods are: bagels (if you don’t know what ingredients are), and avocado – just learn how to use a knife 🤣🤣🤣 NOTE: There are Kitchen Cut Resistant Gloves available on the market. Highly recommend it. I did try to cut my hand – no success.
Way back in the early 80s ‘lol’ before we really knew how horrific we treated people in the fields,I almost died because of the conditions in the growing fields. E-coli is definitely life changing, wash your fruits and veggies before you consume. Mine was from a tomato I had already washed for salad. Be safe
I enjoyed this article very much I do not consume fast foods, fizzy drinks or fruit juices As for goods like sushi, I do indulge in them once in a while but from sushi king which even that, I have stopped eating them because of high salt content Because of my eating habits I am not on any kinds of medication yet ( I hate drugs of any sort ) I turned 70 years old in September TQ for sharing your insight in regards to what is good n what is not good for our body. I love such programs TQ again I am Siti From Penang Island Malaysia ✌️👋
Well Hell, I wasn’t prepared for the cheese one! I have an actual phobia for maggots ( I don’t find them gross like normal people do, I’m 1000% scared to death of them). Oh god… Even typing it out gives me the heebie-jeebies. The second that came on I threw off my headphones and hit skip about 60 times. 😨 No Thanks for that!!
Nutritionists: “Limiting you intake of meat is a healthy choice.” Me: “I choose death.” I’ve heard that the Carolina Reaper is higher at 2.2 million SHU. Pepper X looks like a Witch Hazel from Looney Tunes/Flubber/Slimer. Pear seeds contain amygdalin, which is a shame as they’re actually a bit tasty.
OH my gosh who would have thought that common foods could literally ruin your life. Thanks for sharing this vital knowledge. Only yesterday I read something saying that you get the most nutrition from under cooked eggs. Makes me wonder how much misinformation is out there. Thanks for sharing the truth
Can comfirm that nutmeg can indeed make you sick. Some christmases ago, while christmas shopping I went to a coffeehouse where they suggested that I should try “christmas coffee with nutmeg”. The Barista wasn’t being cheap with the nutmeg which she poured on top. I got SO sick. it was crazy how bad I felt. Sadly my body and/or brain remembers what caused this, because I feel sick just by the scent of it now a days 🙁 it was my fav spice.
If stored properly eggs are generally safe to eat. They used to say that was the reason not to eat raw cookie dough. Now they say it is because of the raw flour. I wonder why they did not mention the many time vegetables were recalled because of salmonella? I remember there were a few recalls on head lettuce alone.
9:30 I knew about the artificial sweeteners being bad as I looked into it back when I was on a dialysis machine and had to really delve into what is in drinks and foods as people on dialysis have to really watch phosphorus in foods as it is the kidneys that remove the excess of that in the body (as well as other things such as Potassium, Sodium, Water, etc).
I was in Korea visiting family a few years ago, and I was treated to some sushi at this fancy, expensive Japanese restaurant. After barely eating anything there because I apparently hate the taste of raw fish, that night I got so sick that I was willing to leave the apartment in my pajamas and wave down a taxi for a ride to the ER. I even thought it all out. Since I barely know any Korean, I was going to point to my stomach and with my tears falling down my face (yes, I cried for hours in pain), the taxi driver would know exactly where to take me🥲 This scared me so bad that I assumed I had a fish allergy and didn’t eat fish for THREE years😰 Only recently I tried grilled fish again and I didn’t die🥹🤧😮💨 I did have my EpiPen with me, though😆 Even if I was jumping off a cliff, I made sure to have a parachute😌 Anyways, idk if my raw sushi wasn’t prepared correctly or what? It didn’t affect my parents who ate it as well🤔 Benadryl didn’t even help😭 My mom had to give me a Phenergan (which is for nausea, but if you didn’t know, it’s also used for allergies😌). I was fine the next day, by the way! But I will never forget the traumatic experience the sushi left me😥😓
Sorry, I’m 40 now, but when did hotdogs become lethal for kids to eat? Kids can’t chew food now a days or something? I was taught to chew food 30 times before swallowing. Yeah, I ignored that once, but learned pretty quickly without the Heimlich maneuver. “Common sense” much, anyone? I personally choked on a cheeseburger at around 3-4 years old, burger, cheese, lettuce and buns. Anyone else squish their own sandwich before eating it? You and your team try to have a good day/night. : )
I believe you presented the ” Juice ” section incorrectly . you’re talking about fruit drinks because 100% Fruit juice doesn’t contain any additives . And you missed the fact that Sodas are the leading cause of people having lost their gallbladder which 100% fruit juice, I’ve not seen that in reports I’ve read . Loved the nutmeg bit, interesting, thank you . Almond bit, there’s a similar distinguishment with chestnuts vs buckeye chestnut . Really great bit, hope you bring more in the food line, educate us on the dangers of what govt. Allows on our shelves … Like TriSodiumPhosphate, MSDS sheet says can burn our skin yet its in all kinds of food on the shelf including our kids lucky charms … Cheers !
Thinly slicing a hotdog the way they showed in this article turns a hotdog into several little throat stoppers. The circular shape is just about the perfect shape to completely block the esophagus. When serving hotdogs to kids I cube them up or slice them lengthwise to form hotdog spears (about four or five are fine). Yes, it’s extra work BUT if we all did it, life’s best would be saved. Surprisingly, balloons also cause esophagus plugs by clinging to the sides of the windpipe. A startled child gasps air in when startled by a popping balloon, then the fight to save a life begins.
Hot dogs are not snacks, you can learn the proper way to cut and avocado, and there are actual machines called bagel slicers. The real danger of the bagels is that they are pure carbohydrates. It’s not the FULL FAT cream cheese that’s bad for you, it’s the carbs, which turn into sugar and make you fat and keep you fat. Cherry pittters are also available so you won’t ingest cherry pits.
Good article. Couple points: 1. Chili peppers are good for you; in fact Capsaicin is being looked at for its anti-cancer and heart health properties. 2. Cherries are a very healthy food; just don’t eat the pits! 3. Raw sweet almonds are also very healthy; as you point out, it’s the bitter ones that can be problematic raw. 4. There is increasing evidence that eggs are a heart-healthy food. 5. You’re right about urishiol on RAW cashew shells; it’s also on mango peels. Cashew and mango are in the same botanical family as poison ivy. But consumers don’t tend to encounter raw cashew fruit.
I’ve read in a book, written by a doctor that there is a link between to much eggs and cancer 🤕 The Norwegian salmon did not suprise me. I’ve heard about that before. I think the best diet we can stick to is clean fish and clean meat. And make everything our self instead of buying all these processed foods. This is probably why so many people are going vegetarians 😊
I enjoy Sushi now and then, a hot dog once or twice a year, hooked on Cashews. I do like rice and pasta now and then. Eat chicken for protein. I adore free range Salmon, but cannot afford it as often as I would like. The rest of the food, I can live without. I do not like fast food or it’s odor. Still slim at 73.
A few facts did blow my mind, and others like leaving rice/pasta out left me scratching my head! I’m from Africa and in many counties, in the poorer areas, ppl don’t have means to refrigerate their foods, hence cooking them thoroughly so they can keep it for 1-3 days until they need to cook it again. And with rice/pasta being the basic foods most can afford, they’re the foods most kept in the same way. I, personally, have so many many times and still do it (to fully cooked food) and never had an issues with it nor have heard anyone in my country who had or is having issues with it.
Now I might be wrong but I feel like it’s more likely that depression is causing people to eat more fast food, not the other way around, just from experience I know that when it gets bad all I want is something easy and cheap that I don’t need to cook or worry about, which often means like Wendy’s or pizza, correct me if I’m wrong tho
Good to know all this, so precautions can be taken, yet that’s a lot of rules to follow that I imagine will soon be over-avoided, or maybe forgotten in a couple days. I’m glad to know what I’ve doing wrong for the last seventy years though anyway. I’ll try to be more careful for awhile. So far I missed any ill effects from these foods. At least that I’ve noticed.
Thanks for letting me know that my leftover rice mixed with nutmeg, eggs, cinnamon, raisins, and sugar actually makes a toxic rice pudding for the children’s holiday treat after dinner! Now I must decide if the rice crispy treats are hazardous too. Does anyone know if this rice and egg toxins apply to other dishes and processes made with rice grains and eggs?
I worked in Japan for 6 years, and consumed fugu sashimi a few times, always from the supermarket. It was always plated as shown on the article. Don’t now whether or not the supermarkets had trained, certified fugu chefs on hand, but not once did I suffer any kind of pain or discomfort. How did it taste? Meh, no big deal. I bought it more for the curiosity.
I once was getting ready to boil some oysters, so I put the 🦪 in a glass bowl to wash, I walked away for awhile, my young daughter went in the kitchen looking at the bowl that the oysters was in. She ran to me and said mama come look! I looked at the glass bowl, there were a lot of tiny worms coming out of the oysters. I threw them away. Washed my sink and hands thoroughly. People are walking around unknowingly with parasites that are causing health issues.
I have swore off soda for decades now after hearing that is full of sugar and basically you are ingesting empty calories and eventually later in the day you try to make up for it by overeating and also the tooth decay that comes along with it such as the sugar and the carbonic acid that eats away at your tooth enamel and I have never felt better, now if I can just get my daughters to stop drinking soda, but no matter how much you try to explain it to them, in one ear and out the other ear. Only time will tell.
I do NOT eat pork, I do not shellfish of any kind; I do NOT eat any fish without scales, NO farm raised fish – only wild caught and NOTHING RAW ! NO MEAT WITH BLOOD! NOTHING RARE!! I do NOT eat any diet food. Nothing ” no-cal”. Only grass-fed meat; etc…. Thank you for doing your article. It was excellent. 😊❤
What a load of BullSit, we’ve been eating processed meats for hundreds of thousands of years. There are more nitrates naturally present in cellery than in processed meat. These studies he’s referring to, used rats who ate only processed meat all their lives in vast amounts. Need it be said that rats and humans digestives systems are different. B.S.
The machine I use at work uses Sodium Nitrate and Sodium Nitrite to cut stainless steel tubing. The fact that when we mix it in water it’s clean but eventually turns yellow, and then a deep dark swampish brown, really makes me not want hot dogs ever again because of how many bags they put into hot dogs. Not mention the big huge skull and cross bone that come printed on the bags.
About eggs: You forgot to mention the most important thing about cholesterol in eggs: The cholesterol is only in the yolk, not the white of the egg. And most stores carry pasteurized egg white which can be used without having to separate eggs or throw away yolks (which are great for puddings, custards and curds.)
I eat carolina reapers and nothing too bad i brought 3 to school and my friends didn’t believe me then i showed them and gave them some. Edit: about the strong stomach: i had food poisoning 3 times in a week with only 1 day of the week without it 💀 but never got food poisoning again 😃 but i still vomit after eating 9 giant pancakes 🥞 💀💀
To be fair the juice one is real and i’ve heard about it for as long as i remember which is why me and my mom prefer to eat our fruit instead of juicing it to get the benefits of fruits only for example orange if i juice it its only sugar and the value would be gone as i’ve heard the vitamin c is not only in the peel of an orange but also in the white part. But even still if you wanna enjoy the fruit juice do so but if you’re looking for the benefit id much prefer to eat it instead. (not to mention juicing a fruit is only taking out the water not the peel)
I can’t eat sushi. I was perfectly willing to try it but I just literally COULD NOT keep it in my mouth. I spat it out before I even had a chance to taste it, to my surprise. My local supermarket sells it, my mother ate it just fine, but my brain when I went to try it just freaked out. Now I think my mind was smarter than I gave it credit for…
Not really changed my mind that much. Knew about the fruit toxins from pits problems, and a lot of that, but thanks for confirming that “sushi should be ‘wushi’ … you know, the sound that it makes when you flush it down the toilet rather than eating it. Absolute nasty case here in America where the man got severe worms in one setting.
Eggs aren’t raising cholesterol levels! I did an experiment, where I ate 3 poached eggs every morning for a month! I used to have high triglyceride levels. My next blood work, without having taken any dangerous statins, showed that my triglycerides were at normal and even below the recommended levels!!! So that false information was for reasons I still haven’t figured out. They also didn’t raise my bad cholesterol levels, for those who were going to ask me next 😊! 👍👍👍👍👍 For eggs as a good breakfast. Now I’m Vegan n my triglyceride levels are above the recommended amount, go figure 😔! Probably from the peanut butter? Has too much of fat. Not all fat from plants is healthy! Especially processed fats in canola oil, sunflower oil!!! Best are avocado oils n extra virgin organically certified olive oils 😉❤️!
Hi! Ive been to japan before and i have researched that all fish and meat in japan are completely cleaned and stripped from any living thing on the sushi One tip: NEVER buy any sushi that arent from a ceritified sushi restaurant or bar Edit: i forgot to add, sashimi is always added with a shiso leaf or wasabi which are parasitic
I eat some pretty damn hot, hot sauces, including reaper sauces but dont think I could eat a full reaper. I grew some once but the ended up very small, about the size of a grape. They were hot but not deadly. That year though I had some red chillies that I normally can eat like candy and they were like eating fire. Not sure if it was cross pollination between the reapers or the ghosts but they were very unusually hot. I noticed they were when I put two in to a 16litre (when i make soup I make lots and freeze it) pot of soup, for flavour and it made it noticeably spicy, so I had to try and eat the pepper by itself.
Great Youtube article. Thanks. Grew up eating sushi. Our family would prepare ‘wasabi’ to eat with it. Chinese mustard is a good bacterial killer, too. So are hot peppers. Wasabi is hot enough to kill most bacteria and parasites. But these days I eat it less because most fish is caught just off shore and carry toxins from industrial and of savage dumping of sewage and environmental waste.:face-turquoise-covering-eyes:
I’m so glad I found this article. This explains why after getting a burrito from my local El Salvadoran restaurant here in San Leandro (Ca.) made me sick. They put rice in it, after telling them no rice. They almost always screwed up my order. I ate it any way. I ate the leftovers after it was in the fridge. I’m gonna see if my Dr. can look for it. THANK YOU. !!!
The information on hot peppers is 100% wrong. Capsaicin actually prevents ulcers and helps the immune system by producing mucus which helps the stomach lining stay protected from hydrochloric (stomach) acid. They also aid in weight loss because capsaicin makes one feel satiated which is the opposite of glucose (sugar) which tells the brain to consume more. In addition, capsaicin is a powerful painkiller because the brain releases dopamine believing the body is actually on fire. This will help stop headaches better than taking headache medications with no side effects. Studies from UCLA and South Korea also showed that capsaicin helps prevent breast and prostate cancer. As a horticulturalist and someone that eats 10+ habanero’s and ghost peppers every day, I can say with certainty and many university studies that there are no dangers from hot peppers, only benefits. It was once believed they caused ulcers but that was also proven untrue so for anyone that loves hot peppers, enjoy!
I feel glad of being vegan (so no meat, no animals products whatsoever in my diet), but quite worried about the chemicals used in large scale cultures of plants for the food industry. It least my choice has a matter of principles and ethics at its very base, but nonetheless I feel harmed anyway whenever I eat something because of the industrial processes that take place before my “food” ends up in my plate. And I am very afraid that there is no workaround, after all. Thank you very much for your instructive and interesting article. BTW, the matter of CASU MARZU is obviously real. But hadn’t I been vegan, I would feel disgusted anyway… (not that the famous GORGONZOLA was so much better, eh? In the end, it’s cheese infested with molds. Bu I must admit it is… ehm, it HAS BEEN great eating it, since it’s incredibly tasty!) 😅 Nevertheless, buon appetito (roughly, “enjoy your meal”!)
I guest starred on a CSI NY episode years ago where a chef and I were being intimate and he served an octopus down my throat as I was tied up and it killed me. It was Kevin Rham. Great actor and friend. It was an extreme eating episode. I think it was called Dog Eat Dog episode if I remember. So gross. But we have so many jokes about it now. Death by pussy.
Yeah but I dont eat processed meat too often, dont eat raw fish or too much fish at all and never in my life eaten puffer fish, nor weird cheese, no soft drinks (cause honestly the “juice is terrible”is just pro coca cola company propaganda), not too much spicy food, no octopuses or other weird sea food, no junk food (just homemade food), no one in the world eats cherry, apricot, apple seeds (or any kind of fruit seeds) and neither do I, never even tried nuttmeg, bagels arent to my liking, never even heard of ackee (look like hemorhoids), I eat eggs in normal ammounts not like a looney a whole pack of it. So with that I would say I eat pretty healthy.
I once bought some kinda of killer chilli peppers and I didn’t realise hot they were. I sliced one of them and cleaned the knife, after that I somehow licked my finger, that was the worst experience of my life. After that I went to the supermarket and asked the manager to put a caution notice. The manager decided to remove all those peppers after that.
Diet and Zero sugar sodas don’t affect everyone like that. When I drank normal soda because I was afraid of zero and diet. I always over ate and felt hungry at the end of the day. I drink Zero and nothing happens. I no longer stuff myself and want more. I may not have lost much weight, but my only problem now is not enough excersise.
This is depressing. I’m going my health to Gods will. I am not able to keep up with this information. My ex husband who is American lives in South Korea and he’s been near death from food poisoning a few too many times. Don’t eat the octopus that move off your plate at the table. Seriously, don’t. Americans aren’t made for this.
Dr. Chaffee disputes what you claim about processed meats. He says the common belief, spread by the food industry(plant-based vested interests)that nitrates&nitrites are harmful & carcinogens, is actually beneficial! Please refer to Dr. Chaffee’s YouTube podcast episode that deals specifically with this issue.
17:18 i have. It’s hot fishes. Ingredients: 4 random fishes Buns for hot dogs Ketchup. How to create: 4 random fishes needs to be chopped in small slices or get them to the meat chopper (idk what this machine called in English, this machine make meat chopped in small pieces) then make a sausages that contains not meat but these 4 fishes that chopped to small pieces. These raw sausages is going to barbecue And after sausage is done, serve it to the hot dog buns. After pour some Ketchup and done. Is this a good idea to open these in restaurants or shops or bad idea that it needs to be nowhere?
I’ve been doing pest control and wildlife control for decades. Do yourself a favor, don’t research any of this information. Ignorance is beyond bliss. I’ve not eaten red meat, turkey, chicken, pork or anything with meat based broth/ingredients for over 30 years. Still eat seafood and dairy products. Am I healthier, who knows? My only advice at 52, listen to your own body. Will tell you more than any nutritional expert, IMO. YT is probably not the best way to learn about nutritional content. Be active, do what you love, eat healthy and indulge occasionally. We all will meet our maker someday, balance is key. I’m a Libra, go figure 😵
Ok i might sound sensitive or a child to you, but i get traumatized by perusal this even though i am curious..it definitely killed my love for food – especially McDonald’s. I’ve been a sucker for cheeseburgers since i was a child, and now i know not to eat processed meat…. And it’s definitely contributed to my weight gain over the years. And also consuming soda,im lucky to be alive at 15 years old….
Eggs aren’t as bad if they are truly free range. One things fowls bodies can make easily with poor quality food is cholesterol. With good food, including stuff they catch and eat outside, they don’t make all that cholesterol that commercial eggs have. Get to know a local chicken person and ask what they feed them!
Dude! Do your research better. Nitrates and Nitrites can form Nitrosamines in the presence of stomach acid, HOWEVER if there is Vitamin C in the stomach, even in small amounts, it prevents the formation of Nitrosamines. Vegetables also have Nitrates in them, but since they also have small amounts of Vitamin C, they don’t create Nitrosamines. The answer isn’t “Don’t eat sausage, bacon, or hot dogs” (because who is going to listen?) but “Make sure you have a glass of OJ or Tomato Juice with your meal, or eat a Vitamin C tablet and then enjoy those great meats with no cancer risk!”
