Why does Ensure hurt my stomach?

A registered dietician can suggest alternative, less aggressive options that may still contribute to weight gain.

It is available in a variety of delicious flavors, including banana, chocolate, coffee, fruits of the forest, neutral, peach, strawberry, and vanilla. Vegan protein powder can be made from various legumes, seeds, or grains, such as hemp seeds, brown rice, and watermelon seeds. Wolfram suggests that legume-based protein powders provide high-quality, bioavailable protein. However, vegan options may contain added sugar alcohols like erythritol and xylitol, which can cause digestive issues. One time I tried vegan protein powder from a health food co-op, it was nauseating in flavor, texture, and appearance.
I searched for the best vegan protein powder and found 13 brands, ranging from palatable to the best tasting plant-based protein powder I’ve tried. The goal was to find the best vegan protein powder out there, with the best taste and texture. The quest began with tubs of vanilla protein or as close to vanilla as possible, and I tested 13 brands to find the best vegan protein powder out there.

Protein powders are a convenient way to incorporate protein into a vegetarian or vegan diet, as they are typically dairy-free and vegan-friendly. The main ingredient in plant-based protein powders is pea protein, which contains all nine essential amino acids, making it a complete protein. Soy protein, a complete protein, is also saturated fat-free and low in fat, making it a suitable choice for vegetarians and vegans.
Why does Ensure have vegetable oil?
Infant formulas, whether plant or milk-based, contain fat blends of vegetable oils to provide essential fatty acids to babies, similar to human breastmilk. Palm oil, a popular ingredient in baby formulas, has been linked to environmental concerns such as deforestation, pollution, and loss of biodiversity. 📹 The BEST Protein Shakes On The Market – Dairy & Plant Based
I’ve been getting lots of requests to review protein shakes. There is a big difference between the good ones and bad. The good …
Regarding garden of life, no you do NOT want to see milk protein concentrate, that’s poor quality. You want to see whey protein isolate! Not concentrate And bulletproof has a horrible leucine content, same for plant based. Anything plant based you’re going to need a LOT more total protein for the same effect for healthy lean gains
Although there’s an “anabolic window” post workout, I thought that the total daily protein intake was most important for overall muscle growth. It is not necessary to immediately pound protein 30-45 minutes after workout (a common myth 0:28) as muscle protein synthesis has been shown to continue even 24-hours or longer post workout. If you could correct me or talk about the science behind this muscle regeneration/synthesis that would be awesome! 🙂
Idk man. This all sounds great and all but, nah…I love the nesquik with protein 23g. Its lower suger than the original, but tastes great. A friend of mine talked me into trying a couple different ones of the “good” ones and I just cant do it bro! The first one tasted horrible and it lingered for hours regardless of what else I drank and the 2nd one I literally dry heaved trying to get it down…All my family members that haved died from natural causes were all in their 80s and 90s and never “health” ate or drank anything…..I’m not to worried about it. But if one actually tasted decent enough to tolorate I’d be in for that..
I love your articles they are very educational I love that you explain what you don’t mean but you don’t stay dwelling on it you get right to what you need and what is right for you and the best product I was wondering if you have ever did any articles on the juices in the stores not like Juicy Juice but more like the Bolthouse Farms or naked I did hear that naked wasn’t as healthy as they say but I was wondering more about the Bolthouse Farms or any other ones that I don’t know about that are in the stores or I can buy on Amazon?
I wish you would talk a little more about the taste. Or have Art taste test them! Lol I eat pretty healthy and dont drink my sugar. I remember trying the vega protein powder and the koai drink because it looked like a good healthy alternative at the time. Both of those taste so gross. I do not recommend them. I keep wanting to try the Rebel drinks but I’m scared. Lol What if they taste gross and I spend $5 on them!?
I used to drink premiere protein, then I started perusal your articles and learned to read ingredients not just look at the numbers. Also I always got an upset stomach and had to be near a bathroom whenever I drank those drinks, lol. So yeah, gave those up a long time ago. I have so many friends who are on keto or other so called “clean eating diets” and they always post about premier protein and how great it is and they drink it all the time in their coffee. I just wanna tell them, “have you actually read the ingredients? Cuz if you really do want to eat clean then you wouldn’t be drinking this stuff.” I’m going to share this article and hopefully they will see it.
Ensure is famous in the hospitals, if patient don’t consume food, that’s the first thing Doctors give patient, before patient headed to feeding tube, so people think it is healthy drinks because, it is doctors tells you to consume, but sadly, it is not helping patients, it’s all about making money in the name of healthy drinks,
Bobby, that 30-45 minute post workout protein thing has been totally debunked. All of those studies were funded by supplement companies and done on individuals who had been fasting. During intense exercise, the body pulls blood away from the digestive tracts and shuttles it to muscle tissue. After a workout, it takes a significant amount of time for GI blood flow to return to normal, at least an hour and probably more. Anything you ingest immediately after a workout will just be sitting in your stomach not digesting for a while.
You should check out the company Organifi, love the ingredients. I have had to learn how to replace hospital tube feed formula with real foods for my grandmother and most protein shakes I have found don’t have enough calories for total nutrition. This company even has mushrooms and a gut healing micro nutrients. It is very expensive though.
Hi, I have been following your YouTube website for a while. I truly appreciate your expertise and advices regarding ingredients in our food. It helps me to make healthy choices when grocery shop. I am wondering whether you can make a article about post workout recovery drinks. Thank you for all you do!
Sorry to hear about your mom. I lost my dad years ago and it’s definitely not an easy life situation. I was interested in trying the garden shakes but they are not currently available on Amazon and oddly enough they had bad reviews. I can’t seem to find them anywhere. I would love to know what you think about fair life shakes. As well as pro team 20 protein waters. Thanks for your time.
I’ve been drinking the Dick Gregory bohemian shake for health with fresh juice and fruit shakes, yes, I dilute it with water so to reduce the sugar content of the juice. This is my main diet except for vegetables I’ve been trying to lose weight. I’ve lost around 6 pounds in the month. I’ve been drinking it every day once or twice. . My question is, has anybody ever done a review of the Gregorys product besides the companies own representatives? All the copy I’ve seen is the same avoiding the details I am looking for. Something scientifically based Breaking down the formula. I know I can lose weight fasting 16 hours a day and sticking with the diet. But I am talking about does it add anything to my health with the supplements included in the Mix.
Great protein shake survey and analysis! At the end you mentioned the Garden of Life protein powder to be an excellent product. I wonder if you’ve heard of the Amazing Grass protein powder, which is the one I consume. I personally think it is one of the best, however I’d like to know your opinion. Cheers!!!
Hey Bobby first time I’m coming think actually it’s a question. Protein powder I’ve been sick lately and not eating well at all I need to lose weight and want a good protein powder that is good quality or excellent quality that is heart healthy I have problems and heart blockages of cholesterol and calcium. I also need a protein powder that is not going to give me much sugar I like the idea that you talked about of I think it was the agave you like but I have to watch them I’ve gained a lot of weight since my surgery I’m unable to do much anymore and because of that I put on a lot of weight and I haven’t been diagnosed diabetic yet but if I’m not I’m only a Heartbeat Away! I have to be careful also I have lung issues I don’t inhale enough and I can’t exhale enough I also have allergies so anything that could get me coughing because you know of I don’t have maybe milk and some oils I have had which was surprising to me the oils can suddenly get me coughing and that exacerbates all my symptoms as you can imagine! So I don’t know if you can help me I think I’ve lost quite a bit of muscle mass and that’s why I’m looking at the protein to help me gain back my strength so I can do more hopefully. I know I’m giving you a lot of info but I need to be careful I have had my arteries in my legs two of them opened they were blocked with calcium and cholesterol and I had been taking a small out of calcium supplement once I became menopausal and just took I guess what I thought was being recommended for me in nutrition books by doctors and apparently in my recent readings the comment was that they felt that they’ve been wrong and they’ve hurt women by advising you know to take calcium and to take one enough plenty of it!
GMO is such a broad-band term that people throw around just to scare others, please explain why its is bad, and explain why GMO is worse for the how then to us, because I know there is a lot of GMO food that are not harmful at all. SO don’t just say GMO and expect us to look up on the internet for source that are unreelable and not scientifically based with little backing, its really annoying. Please provide and explanation with source able backing.
Hi! If you’ve done it already and I missed it, please let me know. I have asked a couple times for a article on how to store some pantry items. I’m trying to incorporate more things like oils, flavors, and sauces (soy, coconut aminos, hot sauce, whole mustard seeds, etc) and I always see people doing different things. Some people keep items handy on their counter or in their pantry and some people keep these items in their refrigerator. I don’t want to give up valuable real estate on the door of my fridge (where I now try to keep fragile veggies and herbs – asparagus and cilantro) because it says ‘refrigerate after opening’ if that is only a suggestion and not a necessity. I know that many people all believe different things and a lot of it depends upon how quickly you are going to use the item up, and I also know you can’t come right out and say we don’t have to keep an item in the fridge but maybe you could say you don’t keep it there and you’re still here to talk about it LOL. I feel that I would use it more if it was in front of me, like having a few frequently used items in a basket on my back counter. Please help! Appreciate all the hard work both you and Art do. (And I agree with the later articles – as fun (and dizzying) as it is to see Art dodge a Waldo – the relaxed at-home presentation (I feel) offers more info. And I really like the ones where you use and taste what you get. Thanks again!
Little not kind respect But asking some store have food and Electric cook like air fryer and Baking oven But not so many cook utensil Grocery store At shikago online like to visit online with grocery and vegetable Dinnerware and Another store like store name Best buy Have stove And robot like very bad But still interest kitchen stuff Atleast usefull winter 5 month Thanks
It’s funny because it was a article that you were doing oldies one in the grocery store and you were like let me know about the coffee if you want me to do this but this is an old article I just happen to go by and I was like oh can you do a protein shake and coffee, so glad I bumped into the protein shake already made because I like to put my coffee and protein shakes together so I don’t put creamer in it because when I put creamer I put a lot I got a look at your creamers choice article😅
Well, the Garden Of Life Organic Plant-Based protein drink seems to have been discontinued. I just bought a bunch of the OWYN drinks from Target because the $7 price per 4 pack couldn’t be beat. Yes, I wish the pea protein was organic (and at least it also has organic pumpkin see protein!), and I wish it omitted the organic cane sugar, and just used erythritol instead, but I can live with that. I still think it’s one of the best vegan choices out there.
If anyone buys the garden of life protein make sure to call the 800 number for the company give them the lot number on that particular package and see if it’s the one that have been recalled. There is nothing wrong with the product that will affect your health but the item become clumpy inside. the company is aware of it. if you already bought some and are experience this, go back and return it they will give you a full refund
If this is what your website is then THANK YOU. Im just finding this because I was trying the bolthouse farms dutch chocolate banana protein plus shake today. So i was searching on that. The way youre zoomed into the ingredients and talking about everything is ao helpful. SO HELPFUL. I have been trying to lose weight but was using trulicity through a weight clinic. Ive made plenty of positive changes in my life to support the medication and ive also added some vitamins and stuff to my mornings. Anyway, the trulicity started causing GI issues so ive stopped taking it but its not left my system yet. Im putting myself on a mostly liquid diet with 1 solid meal a day until my digestion goes back to normal. I must have stood in front of the case with these drinks today for 45 mins. Its so confusing sometimes to sort out what im reading. Sometimes something (sugar) is “ok” because of the source vs added sugars. Its a lot to learn. I look forward to bwing able to look at a label like this and just UNDERSTAND what im reading without a struggle.
