Can I use Colgate in Ramadan?

During the holy month of Ramadan, Muslims worldwide are observing fasts and devoting themselves to prayer and celebration. One of the questions people have is whether or not to brush their teeth during the fast. Most Muslim scholars disagree that brushing your teeth breaks the fast, provided you do not swallow any bits of the toothpaste. However, most people consider that brushing their teeth with toothpaste leaves a certain amount of aftertaste in their mouth despite rinsing. Even if you carefully spit out any leftover toothpaste or mouthwash and don’t swallow any, using these items is still debatable.

In summary, while most Muslim scholars disagree that brushing your teeth during the fast is okay, some people still consider using toothpaste or mouthwash to maintain oral health. It is important to follow oral care solutions to avoid bad breath and maintain good oral health during the holy month of Ramadan.

  • Hello Friends! In the last toothpaste article, best category included only Vicco Vajradanti. Other Ayurvedic toothpastes like Dant Kanti had harsh chemicals. However, this was 5 years ago and today, in terms of ingredients much better options than Vicco have come up in the Indian market. So, it’s time we make a healthier switch.

  • You’ve definitely had a significant impact on my lifestyle, and I’m a loyal follower of your content. While I appreciate your focus on the Indian market, I would love to see more articles where you explore international brands. This would be particularly valuable for Indians living abroad, as access to Indian-desi brands can be limited or expensive. For instance, I managed to find Jagat toothpaste, but I’m still struggling to find essential brand items like cold-pressed oils such as coconut or sesame oil. Additionally, it would be fantastic if you could create a article highlighting Costco/Kirkland products in the USA. Costco offers a wide range of products, and I’ve noticed that none of your articles have covered this brand. Your insights into these products would be greatly appreciated.

  • Plz don’t try the jagat toothpaste I bought a pack of 2. I don’t know why but my family and I had mouth ulcers after using it for 7 days and pura muh chil gya tha bhai so plz don’t buy. Ab toh fir bhi sahi hai pure 5 din kuch nhi kha paya tha daliya ya khichdi ke alawa. Puri tongue aur masudi pe ghav ho gaye the . So plz don’t try jagat toothpaste 🙏

  • Last tooth paste episode you said Vicco Vajradanti and Dabur Lal is good But on this episode you did not said any thing for them and saying about other toothpaste brands. We may got new options but what about previous options,do we need to discard last options.I am just confuse about your research and study output.can any one suggest the right choice.

  • I used to have recurrent mouth ulcers…it was so hard for me to endure the pain of mouth ulcers. I couldn’t eat and drink hot beverages. Until I tried changing my toothpaste from Useleas paste that is COLGATE…I switched to VICCO Vajradanti paste and to my surprise my recurrent mouth ulcers problem vanished. So if you have similar problem…try changing your toothpaste. And yes Colgate paste is great for using in cleaning of white soles of sport shoes. It works magic.

  • I did notice that u didn’t mention neither good nor bad about Vicco Vajradanti… Tbh years back I switched to Vicco Vajradanti SF only after perusal ur article… Even I promoted my decision among my families as well, and most of them are using either Vicco or Dabur Red since then… I hope these 2 toothpastes are still healthy as you didn’t say anything negative about these 2 brands… Thank you… ❤️

  • Sodium Lauryl Sulphat, so called ‘synthetic chemical’ that is added to every toothpaste, i considered SAFE to use by FDA and other regulatory bodies… It’s even used as emulsifier in some food products. Just because it’s a chemical doesn’t mean it’s harmful. Similarly, just because something is completely natural, doesn’t mean it’s completely harmless.

  • My teeth sensitivity problem started in 1998 and I was recommended Sensodent K by dentists. The problem returned in 2014 despite using that medicated toothpaste throughout without break. Then I cycled through a bunch of toothpastes and came across Vicco. And not a single tooth issue since then. I will stick to that one irrespective of any advice.

  • One thing I would like to point out. I personally bought Jagat’s 100% ayurvedic toothpaste from Amazon. After single use I was shocked, it was foaming crazily. How can a product foam without SLS being added into it? Also it contains a preservative called sodium benzoate. I don’t recommend anyone using this product. Don’t waste your money.

  • Hi, what about ” Vico Vajradanti ” ? It is also Ayurvedic Tooth Paste. You should have include this while comparing the brands. By the way, in your article, you have mentioned the price of Ayurdent Tooth paste of 75 ml is Rs. 110/- When I checked on their website the price of 75 ml is Rs. 200/- (they have offer. 2 X 75 ml pack of paste @ cost of Rs. 400/- How can it be? Please share your view on ‘ Vico Vajradanti ” tooth paste. Thank you for superb article. ☺🙏

  • Hey Vivek! Could you have a look over Khadi Natural products, as well as, mccaffein’s coffee body scrub? I use Khadi Naturals and it’s quiet good without any sort of side effects. Do make a note- they do make Khadi Herbal products, which are injected with chemicals. But Naturals seem to have water and the main ingredient mentioned in the product name. I don’t have a clue about Coffee body scrub. Would you help us out? ❤️

  • Biotique Complete Care Clove&Tulsi earlier used to give a complete Ingredient list on their toothpaste but now they have replaced it with NO INGREDIENT LIST!! I bought it in bulk to be sheerly disappointed. 3:33 I think the brand is known for this but instead of improving the product they are going the other way 😞

  • My mom had faced pyorrhea, since then her condition of teeths are really bad, although she’d replaced half of her teeths by dentists but still she faces bad breath and pain in other half of her teeths She had tried almost all of those commercial toothpastes mentioned in this article, Today i came to know about that in the name of Solution those brands were damaging her teeths instead Shame on them, i hope ye knowledge mujhe phle mil jaati, my mom could’ve faced a bit less pain Btw dentist said you might’ve to replace other half of your teeths next year 😔

  • This is sheer fraudulence in name of ayurvedic toothpastes. Fluoride is an important ingredient in toothpastes which prevents cavities and tooth decay. It even promotes remineralisation. It’s very important for bone and teeth health. Not only it is added to water but milk too as per Government standards. I understand that excessive Fluoride may cause fluorosis; however, completely eliminating it can cause many health hazards. As far as toothpastes are concerned, I always recommend my patients a fluoridated toothpaste. A 1000 ppm fluoride toothpaste is recommended for adults and 500 ppm for kids. Natural/ayurvedic ingredients can be an adjunct to it but cannot solely give complete protection. You may buy any toothpaste and with whatever flavouring you like but what’s important is, it should be fluoridated!

  • Dear Vivek, your articles are not just articles but a essential advice on how to choose or select best product for our family. Generally people are tend to buy things just after seeing adds and eventually ends buying a product that may harm to our health in long run. Keep doing and motivating us in doing self research before buying any product

  • Use whatever toothpaste you want. Just don’t swallow. Since this is difficult, we find the need to go for safer alternatives. I’m currently using dabur red. Works for me. My experience with others : 1) have used Colgate n pepsodent till around 27-28 yr old. Used Colgate powder till around 10 yrs old..And yes, didn’t like to eat anything soon after brushing. Don’t recollect any problems though. 2) 28-30 used Meswak. Liked the taste and after brushing feel. 3) switched to dabur red and used till date. No big difference, just the brush used to get red after usage. Now it had reduced. 4) tried biotique once. As mentioned, more percentage of safe ingredients was very inviting. Probably a safe toothpaste, but didn’t quite like the taste. Felt bland and felt i hadnt brushed. During its usage, i saw a small yellow spot develop over my lower right incisor which wouldn’t go away after brushing. This however went away when i used a bit of ‘Gopal tooth powder’. And when i returned to use Dabur red, the stain didn’t reappear. 5) used Himalaya’s Ayurveda toothpaste. Mostly ayurvedic ingredients, however one chemical missed my sight and it is ‘ Bronopol’. This shite is actually a pesticide and a banned agent. I had a throat irritation the day i used it and soon after i returned the toothpaste to the store. Started using dabur red again.

  • Ayurdent jisko no. 1 btaya h vo itna itna itna wahiyat toothpaste h guys itni jalan hoti h usse😵‍💫 seriously yr ye 3rd product h jo fit tuber k kehne pe use kiya or teeno k teeno m paise barbad 😢 ab to trust hi jarah h fit tuber se…..sch m sir pahle khud use kro or phir recommend kro dusro ko abtk jo apk kehne pe use Kiya bs paise waste hi hue h sb m💔

  • Hi!! Kindly make a article on diet plan for night shift workers. I, myself has been working continuously in night shift for the past 12 years. And now struggling badly with over-weight, less sleep and fatigue. Your contents are gem ❤ Kudos to you 🙌 Hope you would look in to this and come up something useful for us. Keep up your good work! Best wishes 🙏

  • I am using your recommended Biotique Aayurveda toothpaste since allmost more than 6 months and all my gum problems are gone away . I didn’t used to brush my teeth from many years and hardly brush few times when my mom used to scold me . But then I took care of them and it’s the best toothpaste every used by me .

  • Thanks for the bold presentation big the facts. Please make a article on quality of flour (wheat etc..) and side effects of few allopathy medicines which are used very frequently and appropriate Ayurvedic alternatives. Also thanks for keep the Vedic knowledge as the basic of your presentations…which modern science has started to concur with. 🙏👍

  • Content at 4:08 is wrong🤦🤦🤦. Do not tell the false information. There is no word present fluoride in the ingredients. That is calcium flouride. Ok I accept your point let us consider as a flouride in this paste. SAID BY DOCTOR: Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral which is helpful in protecting against dental cavities. However, the excessive consumption of fluoride can have deleterious effects on teeth and overall human health. • I even personally know the owner of Maharishi Ayurveda as I’m a HR owner & we work for them too he’s so down to earth & polite even after owning such a big company 😊 there all products are really top notch. Must try their toothpaste. Its the best one to opt for 😉 1 more thing is I’m not been paid by them 😁😂 its mah personal pov 🙂

  • Ayurdent has sodium Silicate which is used in detergents. So can you please do research properly before mentioning it in the article. I used to follow your recommended products blindly before but after using a lot of products I have realised that they either have chemicals or they are too harsh on the skin. With that said I am unsubscribing to this website

  • Request for sources and scientific data on harmful effects of fluoride consumption Hi Vivek, could you please provide sources and links verifying the harmful effects and risks posed by fluoride consumption? Additionally, I am interested in reading scientific data and statistics regarding harmful effects of fluoride, and as the article termed fluoride as “poisonous”.

  • If anyone has any problem with the brands given, do your own research and read the contents in back of Product u are buying. Maybe his previous research was poor or maybe he found some more better options this time. Dont fill comments where is Vicco or Dabur or whatnot. If u dont find this genuine use ur product of choice. No one is forcing u. And u can always check for Ingridients and double check if u think he is scamming or what not

  • Pls. Watch article carefully. He tried to explain better option than this all commericial toothpaste. Among 5 he didn’ t compare with vicco & dabur red. So it means this 2 paste are also good. But now a days we have better option as per his research. Or ye 5 company bevkuf nhi he jo 1 hi aadmi ko apna pramotion krne degi. To wo 1 hi company ko best batata baki 4 ko nhi.

  • I really appreciate the fact how he promotes the hidden healthier products in the market for free!!!!! 😮❤❤ His these types of vdo prove that more than insulting big brands he’s interested in promoting these safer brands, as in his worst to best series he did the same but sm ppl pointed him in wrong way

  • Hello! Thank you so much for all the hard work of research. I am looking forward to changing my toothpaste since using Vicco Vajradanti from when the last article was released. However, I am confused about Fluoride. There are conflicting articles, some from reliable sources like NHS pointing out that Fluoride is beneficial. Since I’ve developed cavities (which could be a factor of many things like my pregnancy last year), I am wondering if it’s because Vicco vajradanti didn’t have fluoride. Did you find any toothpastes in your research that had fluoride but were safer otherwise?

  • I am glad to see the remake of this type of articles. It’s important because many brands after getting popular through these articles, start focusing on mass production thus deteriorating the quality over time. Also some good products are also coming year after year in the Indian market. So these articles need remake after every 2 or 3 years.

  • Jagat dev toothpaste is useless trust me fittuber ka Yehi review Dekhe Maine 3 Pic Order Kiye Tha Akele Ke Liye Maine 3 Pack Use bhi Kar Kiye But No Difference After Using it So Waste Of Money For Me And Know I’m Gone Try Second Recommendation For This Guy Let’s See Iske Baad Saala Mai Isko Unfollow Ban Hi Kar Dunga Bikau Ghosit Kar Dunga Iss Fittuber Ko

  • Ayurdent,.This toothpaste major ingredients are natural ingredients. But as a whitening toothpaste these ingredients can’t do whitening your teeth. Because of that This toothpaste contains 3 ingredients such as – 1. Dicalcium Phosphate Dihydrate 2. Calcium carbonate 3. Silica. These 3 chemicals are abrasives. Abrasives –such as Silica, Dicalcium Phosphate Dihydrate, Calcium Carbonate, and Aluminum Hydroxide – are another important ingredient that give the toothpaste its cleaning power. “Any toothpaste with two or more abrasives listed should be avoided as it can be too abrasive for the teeth.” I will explain these 3 chemicals Below. 1. Dicalcium phosphate: is used as a food additive, it is found in some toothpastes as a polishing agent and is a biomaterial. 2. calcium carbonate: is a mild abrasive which helps to safely remove plaque when brushing and gently polishes away surface stains. (calcium carbonate is a safe abrasive agent that is found in most toothpastes.) 3. Silica : a whitener that damages tooth enamel, is primarily used as an abrasive in toothpaste to get rid of food and debris that sticks on the teeth surface and causes surface stains. It is made from a crystallized compound that is mostly found in quartz, sand, and flint. Scratching the surface of the tooth with an abrasive such as hydrated silica harms the enamel and prevents re-mineralization, much like using sand to clean glass. Hence, the teeth may look yellow or discolored. If you use it daily, your teeth will be whiten soon and damage eventually.

  • Bhai vicco. Ma kasam 1no ka paste hai ❤muze abhi bhi yaad hai chicken mutton khaate waqt Jaar hi nikalne si ho jaati thi😂😅saala sab try Kiya koi ek paste nhi chor sab saale weak Patanjali, forever living, Sensodyne sab Jo isme baat hai wo Kisi me nhi 😎best hai Jaar ke Liye teeth or masure ko ek dum majbolt rakhta hai😊I have been using 6 year

  • If it is so then why didn’t you mention vicco? At least you can categorise it in any category that you had mentioned. Or your authenticity also got paid over the year. Bura mat manana bhai genuine subscriber tha aap sahi explanation aur information to dete comment mai. Kal ko phir kahoge ye nahi koi dusra le lo aur isko bhi mention nhai karoge. Aaj Toothpaste kal Shampo next day kuch aur

  • Hi Sir, truly a very big fan of all your content. I truly love all your articles. I haven’t missed any of your articles from the past, I think 4 and a half years back. Today I want to ask one thing, i.e. today I’m using “JAGAT Devsutra Herbal Toothpaste”, which is your recommendation. But I have a doubt here. In this paste, there’s 2 ingredients that is confusing me, plz clear my doubt and plz reply my comment Sir. Will be very grateful to you Sir. So the ingredients are “Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate 0.3% (Foaming Agent) and Potassium Sorbate 0.3% (Preservatives). Is this two not bad..??? Foaming agent is bad, I think u said earlier once in some articles. And preservatives, u tell every time that preservatives are bad. So plz clear my doubts Sir. Thanks once again

  • 3:37 Biotique toothpaste has mentioned only 65% ingredients ?? How do we know that 35% is purified water? Even you look for other Biotique products you will find they mention only some percentage of ingredients .. but from the rest, none of the ingredients mentioned are harmful.. but why he doesn’t recommend them ?

  • Tried Bentodent, and it is such a big disappointment. Tastes like soil, is extremely overpriced, and the Desensitizer variant is not at all effective. Also, its consistency is such that you can not even apply it on the toothbrush properly. Sensodyne, in comparison, is light years ahead because it just works like a charm. Also, you can only purchase a pack of 2 from Amazon, so it’s not like you can buy a small sample for trying.

  • Hey fit tuber Mai apke articles kafi time se dekh rhi hun ek question tha biotique toothpaste k bare I have order the toothpaste through the link you mention in your description so phele to usmai ingredients list nhi h and second black mark h yani complete chemical and you are saying chemical free h pls clarify my doubts

  • It’s time we moved on from influencers like you to actual doctors and people who actually know this as a profession and not some celeb with googling skills. Here’s what my dentist told me after my root canal treatment- Colgate Total or Parodontax Complete Protection toothpaste. Yes. Colgate total has controversial ingredients but is far effective at its job than majority in the market.

  • 9:40 Ayurdenta is safe ? Really ??? ” Abrasives –such as Hydrated Silica, Dicalcium Phosphate Dihydrate, Calcium Carbonate, and Aluminum Hydroxide – are another important ingredient that give the toothpaste its cleaning power. Any toothpaste with two or more abrasives listed should be avoided as it can be too abrasive for the teeth. ” In this toothpaste, three of them are included !! I think he is doing promotion by putting dust in our eyes.

  • me datun pichle 2 saal se kaar raha hu jab se meri ma ji ne bataya ki gao wale ke taat kyu itne majbut aur perfect rahete hai wo bote hai ki bachpan se datun karne se taat tede mede nahi hote. mere taat ke masure majbut hogaye hai datun karte karte aur me pichele do saal se brush nahi kiya baas datun kiya fir bhi koi daato me problem nahi hai.

  • Even I was about to ask the same doubt. After seeing your previous vedio I confirm that there is no sodium lauriel sulfate in vicco vajradanti and I started using that. But now some other brands are specified. Pl clarify on this. After perusal your reply on the similar comment, you need to mention about the time relativity, Or could have mentioned about your previous vedio on the same content. Viewers would not have been confused and dropped the comments.

  • I would request you to re-verify the ingredients of Jagat Toothpaste, Instead of incorporating Sodium lauryl sulfate, the product contains Sodium lauroyl sarcosinate, recognized for its gentler and less irritating nature compared to certain other surfactants. However, it’s important to note that it may still pose health concerns despite being considered milder. Notably, this ingredient has been included in children’s toothpaste, raising concerns about the suitability of such components for young users.
