A singer, dancer, and instrumentalist, Peter, has resigned from his role as an anchor and presenter of the lottery game show Zoom Up Your Life, due to the constant fraud carried out by fraudsters impersonating him. He has decided to quit anchoring or presenting Zoom, but the platform remains active. Why did Junior hit Mr P?
Junior, a young boy, is enraged by the fact that his teacher, Mr. P, has given him his textbook, which his mother, Agnes Adams, signed over thirty years ago. He throws the book at Mr. P, leading to his suspension from school.
During his suspension, Mr. P confesses to Junior that he had previously beaten many Native American students and apologized. He believes Junior is the second smartest student he’s ever had, after his sister Mary. Mr. P warns Junior that Rowdy, his best friend, has already given up. Junior’s only hope is to leave the reservation forever, and he cries, the only time Junior has seen a sober adult cry.
Junior’s parents come home, and they discuss their hopes for Junior. They assume Junior means another school on the reservation, but Junior tells them he wants to go to Reardan, a rich, public school for white farm children 22 miles from the reservation. Junior’s parents, who are drunks, want a better life for him and Mary. Although their dad says it will be difficult to get him to Reardan, Junior’s mom warns that other kids on the reservation will hate him for leaving like this. However, they support Junior and agree to help him.
In summary, the story revolves around a young boy named Junior, who is suspended from school for hitting Mr. P with a book. His parents, who are drunk, support him and offer to help him.

When I hit age 70, I thought I knew enough computer-eze to carry me the rest of the way, LOL! Well, I never anticipated Zoom! My children tech supports up and left home and forced me to learn this myself. Thank you Claudia, for spending so much time on just the basics. So many vids want to teach me all kinds of Zoom tricks, but assume I already know the simple stuff. You gave me the foundation I needed to actually go to a zoom meeting. Thank you, thank you!
Your tutorial is better than most. Still it amazed me that you did not cover both aspects that a beginner is needing to know right away: You did well on “How to Join a Meeting.” But there was nothing about the crucial “How to Host a Meeting and notify your potential viewers how to find and log on to the Zoom program you are hosting at the right time/date!!! I still haven’t a clue. So I can’t host a meeting until I learn this!
Sorry to contaminate the lake of praise for this article, Having found the absence of any decent effort by Zoom to consider absolute rookies, I hoped that the most basic instruction in how to set up and host a meeting would be found here, starting with explanations of Why IDs and passwords are needed what the 4 coloured options do how to invite people can a contacts list be created ? how? I find the opacity of this system extremely frustrating,
You’re not old enough to talk like a 1986 Valley Girl. Learn to speak with definition and purpose. No need to put a question mark at the end of a sentence UNLESS it is a question you’re asking. If you’re telling something you supposedly KNOW, you need to express yourself with confidence not with a question inflection. I gave up on this at 30 seconds because I don’t believe you have the expertise to tell me what I would need to know. That may not be true, but it’s the way you present yourself. Little kids do this because they haven’t lived long enough to have experiences that give them credibility. You, on the other hand, should sound like a grown up adult. This is not meant to be critical, albeit it is blunt. But your generation won’t take the time for me to be polite and couch everything with niceties. So take it as a helpful critique and not criticism.
Hi! Some questions if I may: (I am on android phone.) Can I be on zοοm while on plane mode? Does it affect it? I will be using my andrοid, will I be able to record the meeting on my phone? If not, how do I do it? Can I have the phone charging while in the meeting? Can I see the meeting and me at the same time? If so, what do I press to do that? Thank you for your time!!
Here’s the problem I had using this app. Oh I recently downloaded the zoom app on my android phone for a doctors visit. So it needed to just work, but it didn’t. So I missed out on my medication. Today, same thing happened. No article, no audio. So they rescheduled thankfully today. No utoob articles helped and I know very little about apps. Guess what, the down loaded app set the settings to driving mode from the get go, without any input from me. In addition, it was set to hide controls also as downloaded. So I had no idea that the article and audio was actually set to off when I brought the zoom app up. Now, I can get both audio and article. Who could have expected that. I did not even know this app had settings before today.
What happened to setting up a camera and a microphone? And what kind of cameras and microphones work best with Zoom? 🤔 I have a Logitech web camera, which should work fine, but there is nothing in the article about web cameras or microphones. And they are only the 2 most important things to consider. 😕
Hi Claudia, thank you for the article… I would like to know what type of camera and lens you used for the YouTube article… and did you use the same for zoom… I’m looking for a good hdmi digitalcamera, article capture card and lighting… Is all this necessary for good quality article image? or do I just need a webcam?
I feel really bad because everyone is saying how wonderful this was and how easy it was to understand. You lost me even at the beginning Because I really didn’t know what you were talking about! I’ve never done zoom And I appreciate this article but I still don’t know how to do it, Probably because when you said to go into settings or whatever it was that you said I don’t even know how to do that, where to find it on my tablet, or what it even means so I will probably watch some other articles to see if they are any better for me. Thank you though 😔😢
Sadly this didn’t work for me at all. I tried to do this side by side with my brothers android and my tablet. I needed to start a meeting so I sent an invite to his email, the email was never received, time and again I sent but never received, therefore no code. I then tried different emails and different devices, this time two laptops. Again I tried sending a meeting request and couldn’t see anything in the in box. I tried it the other way round for him to send to myself and still no luck. After about 90 minutes or more of frustration I decided to uninstall and try Skype lite, this was even worse as my brother was not accepted, I tried the meetings app in Gmail. My home PC had all the relevant tabs, but both mine and my brother’s were missing on our androids. I’ve tried duo, teams and any one of these apps available and still scratching my head what could be wrong. My brother is autistic and I’ve had a great deal of time during lock-down to try and get something up,and running for us to communicate better, the telephone has been the only way so far. I’m normally pretty good with being able to fathom almost anything out on a computer but this has got me baffled, especially as I’ve been trying various different types of App, surely one at least must work for me. To give you an Idea, several years ago I installed Skype onto both of our androids and withing about ten to fifteen minutes I had a good connection. One day it no longer worked for us, I tried a new update for us but it no longer worked, I tried various other apps at the time and eventually gave up.
Number of people say this is helpful. NOT FOR ME.Only for overview. Everything too fast. How are you supposed to see the display, see Claudia and actually go step by step. If this for beginner why add complexity with things like snap camera? Agree voice and etc. good, but still do not see a way to use this to connect to the first zoom meeting tonight.
It is also very important to show people how to “True Mirror themselves” (non-reversed mirror mode)! Look for yourself the first minutes I can see your natural self (non-reversed) but when you turn on zoom article there is your mirror image! Here is the “How to” by John Walter the maker of the True Mirror: “Did you know you can change the reversal of your own article on a Zoom call? It normally defaults to a mirrored version, because in typical fashion, Zoom, along with most selfie picture modes, assumes the common notion that we prefer our backwards, mirrored image. It’s usually mainly because we are used to it, but there’s a problem with that: Our faces just don’t communicate naturally backwards, our expressions really look and feel differently when flipped. Everyone else sees our faces forwards as it is, Zoom sends it out normally, but for us, we are always seeing our expressions with that mirroring effect. It’s a weird thing, and while we are used to our faces this way, I believe that it’s somewhat dehumanizing when we see ourselves backwards with constantly altered, even somewhat fake expressions. Because the mirror doesn’t communicate properly, most people just stare at themselves in mirrors, or with a highly reduced set of expressions, with most of the ones with light and life in them missing. This is the whole idea behind a True Mirror, where you can make eye contact with yourself correctly, in action, and have normal self-communication as a result. But on Zoom, you are supposed to be actively communicating, so instead of staring at your backwards face like a mirror, you see all your expressions, but weirdly flipped with those altered meanings.
Having issue with bluetooth headphones (using for meetings at home that need to be confidential or just to not disturb family in other rooms)…when i share a article (share sound and optimized for article all turned on), everyone else can hear the article but I cannot hear the article thru my bluetooth headphones. If i am not using the headphones and sound is directly thru my computer speaker, i can hear the article. Is there a workaround setting to make the sound work for a shared article thru my bluetooth headphones?
Claudia…When you change your voice to that California crackling sound you are extremely hard to understand and my wife had to walk away because it is so annoying. Please practice proper voice control & don’t talk using the gravely crackle that fades out. Don’t feel bad because a lot of young ladies use it and don’t even know it, but talking like that is kinda like some guy wearing his pants so low you have to see his underwear, it is distracting and hard to understand.
Good article. Very clear to understand. I need help when I am on screen share and then I share a page from the book that I have scanned in and downloaded it to my canvas. Then I share the download with class on share screen. But then I want to go to another page I have downloaded, and I lose my students and my shared screen. I go crazy when this happens. One time it was so bad and I couldn’t et back into my zoom screen, so students left class and went home. Help. I need the very basics!
