  • Learned about “Yakub” as a result of writing a paper on religions of American origin for an honors philosophy class at Weber State University. I chose The Church of Later Day Saints ( the Mormons) and The Nation of Islam (the Black Muslims). Yakub is a strategy used by the NOI to explain the presence of other races, particularly white. Myth is a powerful tool. It is used sometimes to enshrine the birth of a culture (like Romulus and Remus of Roman myth). Other times it is used to motivate change in culture ( like the Aryan Racial Superiority of the Third Reich). Or it can be used to produce a culture that did not really exist to blind those that emerged from a culture that did not evolve (the culture not the people) in the fields of science, engineering and technology at the same rate as most other cultures. Yakub is merely a blinder.

  • So the back story for Yakub, isn’t from Elijah Muhammad but from The Nuwaubian Nation, a “kind-of” offshoot of the NOI started by Malachi Z. York. He wrote this backstory on some pamphlets he called “tablets” that “revealed” the whole story to him. Its like the Yakub story got the fan fiction treatment.

  • Danzig did a song about this called White Devil Rise in response to Louis Farrakhan, basically saying that if crackerdom started embracing the story of Yakub, and started behaving in the way he intended us to, Ebenoids would have a serious problem on their hands. “You speak my name, I do not mind, to give me credit is so kind.   • I try to laugh but then the reality of the situation hits me: There are a sizable minority of people who believe some version of this. If you don’t believe that to be true there a public diatribes that Nick Cannon has gone on that draw strait from Jakub. The amount of projection and compensating it is imbued with is staggering. The whole story sounds like it was created by someone with the intellect of a 3rd grader. If you ask a kid to create an origin story, this is what what it would sound like. I prefer other historical topics related to African Americans that are more closer to our reality; however, the understanding of this story is deeply meant to be taken as a metaphor. Also Yakub would be the Father of damn near every man in America because all Americans especially African Americans are mixed with White people. A lot of African Americans from Louisiana talk about this because their ancestors were part of the French Black Legion which had a very long history of Black nobility. After the French revolution a lot of this history has been. And the Germans destroyed a lot during WW2

  • People need to take into consideration what the NOI has told us in regards to how a nefarious group of originals were cloning to create a lighter skin tone. They created a variation of black phenotypes in the process of lightening the skin( ie., Pygmy, negritos, siddis, aboriginals, etc). Some had blonde hair blue eyes as a result of trial and error.
