Does Pet Hair Show Up In Black Denim?

Denim is a popular fabric that can prevent pet hair from sticking to it, making it a great choice for clothing and home items. It resists pet hair better than most fabrics like velvet or corduroy. Pleather/PU leather, natural leather, and Everlane The Perform Leggings are also options that can be used for workouts.

Removing pet hair from fabric can be challenging, but regular cleaning and grooming can help. Some easy fabrics to clean include furniture with synthetic, denim, or leather upholstery. Denim doesn’t have much hair magnetism, so wearing a neutral color may help.

Pet hair can easily be removed from denim by using tight weaves that don’t let hair stick easily. Solid dark colors are the worst for showing hair, while textiles that are tightly woven and smooth in natural fibers like cotton attract and hold hair. Winter clothing, such as black and navy slacks, show every bit of dog hair.

Denim is not completely pet-hair resistant, but it does attract pet hair, depending on the washing method. Some of the best fabrics and specific clothing and home items that have been found to be pet-hair resistant or extremely low-maintenance are listed below.

In summary, while denim is not the best choice for clothing and home items, it can help prevent pet hair from sticking to fabric. Regular cleaning and grooming can help keep your clothes and home items pet-friendly.

  • I tried those dryer sheets and I was disappointed. It does keep the hair from sticking to clothes but it just kinda sits on top of the fabric instead of intertwining with the fabric and you still have to manually remove the hair. So it does repel it but I was hoping it would cut down on manual removal. And it always seems like there is more hair on it after you wash it than there was before you washed it!

  • I would never put anything in my dryer without washing it first. These sheets are supposed to repel dog hair which means you have to use them before you get dog hair on your clothes. After perusal this article I tried them and the sheets clogged the lint collecting parts of my dryer and I can’t get them clean 🙁
