The engagement ring style plays a crucial role in defining the personality of the ring. Four main styles in the range are solitaire, multi-stone, cluster, and halo, each representing a different personality type. The ideal engagement should reflect the couple’s unique qualities, whether they are quirky, modern, classic, romantic, or trendsetting. Popular diamond forms include the Round Cut Diamond, Princess Cut Diamond, Pear-Shaped Diamond, and Oval-Shape Diamond.
These styles can be grouped into four core styles: solitaire, diamond band, halo, and trilogy rings. The versatility of these styles allows for a variety of choices. For minimalists with a modern sense of style, a ring with clean lines and simple design elements is a good choice.

I love your articles but would love a article about how mass produced rings are actually made. When advertising the companies stress that all stones like in a cubic zirconia ring are made exactly the same way a bespoke jeweler would make. They cut the stones and individually set each and every stone. This is so deceptive. If it was done that way, you could not sell a ring for $69.99. Thank you ☺️
Your Average Jeweler, I have a question. Can a jeweler tell a real stone from a fake by looking at it in the shop? I’m not interested in how much, how clear.. only in things like: “Yes, it’s a real stone/gem” maybe even being able to say it’s a garnet, amethyst, aquamarine,… . I’m not really that interested in a full analysis and only a rough idea as to value.
Great explanation of the possibilities of longevity & style verses risk & repair or replacement of each of the design aspects. I occasionally design mens rings because…… well, almost no-one does. I designed my self a 2.6ct Asscher cut Santa Maria de Itabira Aquamarine ring in .950 Platinum. Because I dislike big, chunky rings, I had 6 VS1 E 2mm diamonds (representing my 6 Grandkids ) offset to one side @ about 35* into 2 rows of 3 from the table of the feature stone to reduce surface area. The Aqua was “End-set” in the mentioned tension setting to afford maximum light play but was also secured at each corner of the stone by a minute drop of crystal UV activated glue to stop the risk of ANY loosening or movement. It has worked beautifully & everyone remarks on the design & of course, the colour of the Aquamarine itself. Wish I could show it off here… very proud of the finished product.
Hello I need help identifying a ring that I can’t find anywhere, it’s real a real 10k gold antique ring that is very unique and has a hallmark but not found at all as been searching for months. I’m binge-watching Engagement Ring YouTube articles because I’m a first-time buyer and I wanted to know more tips for the next time I’ll purchase more jewelry. Safe to say, I followed these tips and ended up with my adorable ring from Gem Jewelers Co. I’ll definitely go back there because of the countless design options and the amazing prices!

Please don’t waste your money on buying rings especially diamond rings it’s a scam and it’s worthless. Spend your money on investments that actually matter. I can’t believe that people still think that these overpriced scams are worth it. Just look into how the de beers syndicate created the idea of a diamond engagement ring in 1938 and marketed it to everybody and now that’s the norm.
Hi please help! i am wondering my sister just got 3.60gr diamond ring, i google it, it says around 18karat/ carat? And price around $4.000 australian dollar and i went to jewelry shop yesterday and i like one of the ring, cost $4.500 aus dollar, but it says 0.95 Carat TW Of Diamonds In 14kt White Gold, not even 18ct, so i mean why are they different? Means 0.95 is not good ? But why more expensive than 3.60gr diamond ring? Thank you.
The article is a bit misleading is some places. For example material selection. Hardness is not the only mechanics property that matters. Things like the toughness of the metal (the capacity of a metal to not break when a significant force is applied) are important too. Also pure Silver (~250 HV) is harder than pure Gold (~200 HV). Of course this changes depending on what and how gold and silver are alloyed. If you got a friend in the sciences ask for their opinion advice along with the retail jeweler. At the end of the day its your choice.
Went with about 3 hours salary (not a typo) engagement ring and had her come with me to pick it out. LOL. I do things my own way. Got a nice rose gold band with a little diamond. It’s what she liked. She is a Filipina with tiny hands. Planning on getting a $120 rose gold/ silver plated tungsten band for myself. 😂
Whether you are choosing a traditional diamond design or something more unique, this small token of love will always hold a special place in the hearts of couples. As you embark on this new journey together, never forget that an engagement ring is more than just a piece of jewelry – it is a lasting reminder of your love and commitment to each other! – Tycoonstory Media
